Can anyone recommend a good place that I can get my bumpers rechromed- in or around the LI, NY area? Thanks!

Whatever you do, don't send them to Tri City in TN.

??? I had great results with Tri-City...what happened, hunt2elk?

yea me too, they did the bumpers on my bee about 10 years ago and they are still beautiful. I will say since they are local to me i have heard of them putting out some crappy work sometimes.

They did the bumpers on my Charger. Covered with grinding marks and terribly wavy. I've had several people comment on how bad they are. I am positive they weren't the ones I sent in, mine were straight but corroded. I sent three of the bumperettes back already. One broken stud, and 2 because the chrome was flaking off before I even bolted them on. The only good thing I will say about them is that they were the cheapest of all the places I checked with. The old saying 'you get what you pay for' holds true with them in my mind. I will go out of my way to never deal with them again.

I was going to buy from Bumper Boyz but I've read and heard a lot of negative comments about them. My father also reminded me of the bad experience we had with the bumper for my 63 Nova that we bought from them. Started pitting and rusting about a year after it was on the car.

I have had good luck with Keystone. They are located in northern MN. They are expensive and have a 12-14 week turn around. I don't know about the NY area but most body shops in the Midwest are a drop off point for Keystone so pickup and shipping is free from and to the body shops. You would have to check with your local body shops to see about the free shipping. I have sent bumpers to them from 4 cars that I restored and they all turned out great. I did use Bumper boyz in California once but was not happy with their work. Don't know about any of the others

I would run very far away from these guys!!!!! They were at Good Guys here a few years ago before I got my RR back together, and just grins, I asked if they had any 73 RR bumpers, and the guy went and pulled one off the rack and showed it to me, to this day, I still cant figure out how they managed to chrome the outside of the bumper, while the underside was painted over rust with silver paint, for 325 bucks, not even close to what it should have been.

I used Ogden Chrome, and they did a nice job, and price included pickup and delivery. They did mix up my bumperetts with someone else's, but they got that squared away pretty quickly and the results were pretty damn good. I am sure their prices are even higher now as I got mine done in 2013 for $525 each, again shipping both ways included in their price. Not saying they are the best out there, but I had a good experience with them, and my car is even on their testimonial page.

Nix on bumper boyz and they're local to me. Keystone is the shop of choice in the Midwest. The other rechroming shops send there bumpers out to keystone because they do so many and apparently the quality is there so they can't compete.

I used a place in CA called Bumper Connection that's in Santa Fe Springs. Pm me if you want the contact info. They did a nice job on my bumpers and exhaust tips. Price was reasonable too. Tough to find good rechromer these days..... Good luck
