I saw one of those on a Counting Cars episode a couple weeks ago
they were emulating or trying to
look like old lightning rods of the Hurst Corp
in an Hurst Olds Cutlass tribute of some kind

Custom Torqueflite shifter

Interior 1967.jpgShifter pix.jpg
I made this shifter for my Torqueflite in 1967, when I was 25 years old. It was in my altered wheelbase 65 Plymouth.
It was the dashboard shifter out of a 63 plymouth to start with.
I made it after I set the engine back 26" and put the aluminum interior in the car. Did it all in the back room of my speed shop.

Mike it looks absolutely beautifully !!:headbang:

Nasty stuff. Looks like it is going to be fun at the strip.

So forgive my ignorance.. are the other levers nonfunctional? What does the red button do? It is a pretty cool custom piece, and nice to see after seeing so many stock gear shifts on this site :hello2:

They work just like the old hurst olds lightening rod shifter from the early 80's. The one in the picture is the 4 speed GM model they sell, the red button can be anything you want it to be, line lock, nos, flood lights, beep beep horn, etc, its just a switch...

"Yes All Functional"...The red button on mine will be used for Gear Vendor Overdrive but can can be used for anything like NOS, Line-Lock, Trans brake ECT:
Like many of those who love manually shifting there automatic Trans from first to second then third this is a much cooler and safer way because you only pull the handles back one at a time..."Wait just watch this video" Lol its much easier

it looks cool but seems like a way to take a simple 1 lever ratchet shifter and complicate it.

I had a similar shifter tower by Art Carr way back when... Nice fab work.
