I've had quite a few Mopars over the years, but never a 6 barrel variety. I have a question I hope somebody can help with. I went to look at an A12 Bee, 49k original miles, same owner since 1974 and the original was a good friend of his, butterscotch, black bucket console automatic, non vinyl top, wood grain steering wheel, tic-toc-tac, side scoops, 6-way seats, light package, ps, pb, am/fm, rear shoulder lap belts. Had one repaint in the late 70's. It would be considered a nice driver. Never been in an accident and never raced. My question is regarding the fender tag. I have never owned a Lynch road car, and noticed that there is not a lot of info on the tag. Seems to me there are some very rare options on this car, and without a build sheet how does a guy prove they are stock before taking the car apart?
The only codes on the tag are : 96 96 m6x x9 - second row 8x c16 - third row 26 a12.
If I buy the car I think I would be tempted to restore it because the bodywork done the first time wasn't the best and definitely not up to my standards. There are some very small bubbles starting on both sides of the pass rear wheel, pass drop off bottom is a mess, and the truck pan has pitting. So I would replace the pan, both drops, and probably both quarters(pass. side for sure). The rest of the car looks great. Interior is original except the headliner.

Yep, already talked to Dave and a couple of others and got things sorted out.

Hunt did you get the car, pictures?

Nope, we are a bit too far apart on price. If it was a 4-speed I would pay more. Nice car though.

hey hunt do you know by chance how many of those butterscotch a12s there are. cant be alot of them out there.

There is no way to know for sure. I am fairly certain it was one of the 4 original colors for these A12 cars though. I don't think it is a rare color on these by any means - I see a lot of them come up for sale in this color.

Yeah,
The Butterscotch is a RARE color.

It's an anomaly, the funny thing is being a Rare color, coincidence has it a FEW have been floating around for sale.

-So, it seems there are a LOT of them when there actually is not many.

In my opinion, A12s are highly collectible

Yeah, you are probably right. It just seems like there have been several for sale in the last couple of years. Butterscotch and R4 are the colors I have been running across the most.

The A12 is a major favorite of mine. So much so that I turned my 68 into one. Even though they didn't build them until 69 - at least on the RR/SB/Coronet. Just had to have that set-up both mechanical and look.

13% of A12 superbee's were butterscotch so I wouldn't call them rare or scarce. Only three other colors V2 R4 and F6 were made in larger numbers.

How much were they asking for that car (if you dont mind sharing)
