Several weeks ago while searching Craigslist (with AutoTempest) I came across the pictured 1964 Sports Fury. It was located in Littleton CO....I live in North Central Florida.

I posted on this forum asking if anyone who lived in the area could "eyeball" the car. I received a PM from SteveSS telling me he was about an hour or so outside Littleton BUT was working in the general area for a day or so and would be happy to look at the car. We contacted the owner, Steve made an appointment and sent me a very detailed set of pictures and his comments. HE NAILED IT!

The seller and I agreed on a price..we completed the transaction, I contracted a shipper and within a week it was sitting at the Florida drop point. The car was actually better than I thought and am very pleased with it. It came with the original window sticker, owners manual, prior owner's information. I'm the third owner...the first owner bought it new in Colorado and owned it 43 YEARS! The second owner had it about 8 years...and drove it very little. The odometer says a little of 38,000 miles miles which I have no reason to believe it's not correct. It wasn't a pampered "only on Sunday" car but it's really nice.

It's a 361 automatic which appears to be intact with the only modification being the previous owner had a four barrel intake and AFB carb installed (casting numbers say it's from a 65 -383). There is no rust, floor pans and trunk are solid, carpets and headliner are in great shape, needs front seat covers. Color is Chestnut (not my first pick) but it's growing on me. Thinking on putting a set of Magnum wheels and then a step at a time.

Will be starting a separate thread for the car and post the progress.

This forum helped me tremendously with my last car which was a 67 Satellite (last picture)....I sold the Satellite at the Carlisle Show last month....It sold the first morning of the show 30 minutes after the gates opened to a muscle car dealer in Clarkson, Michigan. It's now sitting on his showroom floor.

Very cool. Both cars look great. Sounds like SteveSS did a great job for you. Congrats.

That is a very nice looking Fury. I like the idea of the Magnum 500's. I wouldn't change it very much. Drive it and enjoy it. Kudos to Steve for helping you with the look/see. He's one of the good guys on this forum.

Great looking '64 Sport Fury. Enjoy!

I was my pleasure to help a fellow FBBO member out. It really is a nice survivor. Both Larry and Craig were great guys to deal with.

Looks practically new, I like the color, gives it a one of a kind color combo. Your ex-Satty is gorgeous too.

SteveSS, that was a very nice thing you did, good call.

Nice job on your part ! Good people deserve good word for good deeds.

I think that Chestnut is a great color. Congratulations on your new MOPAR!

I lived there for 15+ years and I never saw that car at cruises or anywhere else. Must've been very well hidden.

Steve I'm interested in a car in LA can you help???
Just kidding....that's awesome helping out a guy you don't know to garage a sweet old Mopar! :headbang:
