I have a question about superstock springs. From what I understand, they were made for a-bodies which is why you need the 2" hanger for the b- body. Does this pertain to e-bodies as well? The reason I ask is I know someone selling E-body super stock springs with hangers. Will they fit the GTX?

All true super stock springs will have a 20" front section. IE Center of front bolt hole to center of pin for axle.

So in a A-body no longer front brackets are needed.
For your car a 2" longer straight front hanger is needed. In E- body it is a 2" longer bracket also but I think it is offset.
But SS spring is the same for each car. There are many different weight ratings .

Superstock springs were originally developed for the '63 Dodge and Plymouths.

These cars have the 20" front segment and it just so happens that the later A bodies did too.

AREngineering has the proper front spring hangers to make them work on later B's and E's.

I might be wrong, but the "modern" SS springs were originally designed for the '68 Super Stock Darts & Cudas. The A body front segment of the A body is 20". My '65 Coronet had 21" front segment, which I thought was the pre - 66 B body dimension. 1968 & later B body & all E body use a 22 " front segment. If you want to use a SS spring in a GTX (67 or later) a shorter front spring hanger is needed. Good luck.

My experience with these is that the quality has really gone downhill in the last decade. We used to have some Canadian made SS springs that were pretty decent. I wouldn't even consider spending any money for a used set. Springs wear out and the mexican made units wouldn't last more than a season. I got 5 years out of my Calvert mono leafs before I killed them. Your mileage may vary.

I bought my SS springs from Mancini about 6 years ago. I bought the 3400 lb springs and they work great on my 63. And yes the bolted right in my 63 Sport Fury s it takes the same size spring my sons Dart uses. Ron

Your car Doesn't count as it is an all out track car. My car does double duty as a street/strip car.

Ah my car is more a street car then yours as I drive it all the time and even drive it to the track most of the time. I have only raced it twice since 2012. Its mostly a street car as I would put it at 99% street car. It has never had racing gas put in it as I run it on 92 pump and I have never uncapped the exh on it either as I race it just like I drive it all capped up when I do get to the track. I dont own a car trailer either. No its a real street car with working wipers and all lights working. The body has never been cut on or tubbed and I still use the stock gas tank with a 3/8 sending unit. Its not even close to being a race car. Ron

Even if I had a race car what effect does that have to do with the question you asked ? What seems to be your problem here with this ??

Now that's a good question.

I drive my car to the track all the time as I live only 20 miles from Island dragway. I also drove it to Englishtown which is an hour and a half from my house. My car is more of a Street car than yours as I have no roll bar. I also have a stock stroke 440, but why does this have anything to do with superstock springs as you can use them on the street or at the track?

Well I dont think I will lower myself to have a dispute over who's car is more of a street car. I cant help it you dont have a roll bar in your street car but mine is fast enough that I cant race without a rollbar. I have to drive 45 miles one way to my home track but this sounds more like you have an additude problem and I believe I know what it is and I also could not care less about your additude. Got a problem then PM about it. Ron

I have no problems as I just bust balls. Some people have thin skin for some reason.

No I know what its about and I am fine with it if you are. I have no beef with you as long as you dont mess with me then we can get along fine. Ron

I just saw an albino skunk as I'm on vacation.

383 ron, have you ever seen a white skunk before?

:icon_weed: I've never seen one of those as I don't dabble.
