I have to get back on track.. Spending a little too much time watching and occasionally posting stuff in the political forum that it's time to get back on track!

Ordered the stoker kit from 440 source for my 400 block!

I was originally thinking the 471 kit but after more thought I pulled the trigger on the 512! The kit came in the other day and parts look great! Pics aren't great though!

Pics are of the crank, balancer, dish piston and oil pan. Should have taken out of plastic but didn't want any mishaps! All pieces look excellent! Many other parts came too but didn't photograph. The build will start here next week!

Still undecided on heads and camshaft. It's strictly a street car, no strip. Looking at the 440source Cnc stealth heads and comp cam 571 hydraulic roller cam they have listed. Looks big to me but I went there. Any thoughts?

We'll post pics and progress as we go! Thanks!

Good luck with the build a good start on parts
there's no replacement for displacement !!...LOL

Build that baby to kingdom come. Why not a 512? How much hp to figure you can pull from it?

Oh I'm going to build it! You build it, it will go (I hope).

According to 440source, with their Cnc heads at about 80cc, that comp cams 571, with the 400 block and stroker kit....he said north side of 600 hp. We will see. I'm not going to expect that much but I bet it's close..

:icon_pray: I'm envious, that's going to be a blast to drive!

Thanks, I hope so!

Gonna be a sweet motor. Good luck

512 ! Nice, i would use RPM heads from Edelbrock very close in price after all the up grades with the Stealth Heads IMO..Keep us posted.

I have been looking at the Edelbrock rpm heads. They were my first choice. But when I started looking at them and the roller cam and matching them up, then looking at the port work that the stealth Cnc heads had done (not the regular stealth or super stealth) plus matched well with the crane camshaft, all for very close to same money, it just seemed to be the "better" way to go.

It's been rather difficult for me trying to decide which way to go on this build. It didn't take long to figure out 512 was the way to go. Didn't take long to figure out hydraulic roller was the way to go. That said, the right size h.r. cam and heads have been tough. Spending this kind of moola, I want to get it right and leave nothing out there!

I'll make a choice this week! Gotta get it going! I'll take another look at the eddies! I know they are good!

Thanks

Please keep me posted as I'm going the same route and was thinking just buying 650 hp motor from muscle motors crate I'm on the fence thanks

Bobo, will do!

Realizing this thread is years old. Any info on the 440source stuff and if the 512 is ok for a weekend cruiser.
