Is anybody going this week or weekend?
I just flew in today....

No Superbee though. Still having engine problems. Next time for sure.

I am not personally going , but I do know that Efran Films will be there doing a documentary about the event. They were hired by WWW.autoblog.com which in tern is owned by AOL.com. Aotoblog.com does all motorsports and they did a drag racing film featuring "The Chrysler Power Classic" in May 2015.

It really starts week before and runs to this Saturday. It is to commercial now. No where to park for the cruisers most businesses rent out there parking lots. To many idiots with minivans clogging up the route. If you have not experienced it then you should but allow for more than one day cruising and you will appreciate it more. Bring plenty of patience you will need it because it is a big event 100 thousands of people on Saturday and thousands during the week. Been to everyone from the beginning but I just go during the week now to enjoy the cars cruising.

Just got back from there, went last night also.
Its too much of a zoo Saturday, if I do go it won't be in the GTX.

People either love it, or hate it, there's no inbetween. I used to go every year, but being 1,400 miles away it has dropped slightly on the priority list. I did go last year after taking in the Mopar Nat's the week before and we had a blast! Yeah, it's crazy on Saturday, but it's the largest automotive event on the planet, so I don't know what exactly people are expecting. If your ride doesn't overheat, there shouldn't be a problem, and if you're a true car guy, there isn't anywhere else you would rather be on the third weekend in August. :headbang:

I use to go when I lived in Detroit. Was going from the start but quit going a few years after I moved to Kentucky. Not that it was to far to go, but that it was just way to crowed and not much fun anymore. Lots of cars to look at and tons of vendors all over but just not my thing anymore. I use to go to Pigeon Forge TN. But that starting to go that way also. If I can't drive around on the day of the cruise itself I'm not into that. But that's just me. If you have never been it should be a "must" for your bucket list.

I hang on the south end, during the previous week. Pontiac on the weekend. Hell, there's no oxygen during the south-end part of the actual cruise.

Only fumes and burning rubber..... :headbang:

It's Thursday. In sitting at Woodward and 13 mile. I freaking love it. This is my 3rd time.

I was there around noon today with my GTX, there wasn't much action yet, checked out the Mopar display they where setting up and hung out at the gas station across the street for an hour. I'll be back tomorrow night for sure.

Is MOPAR set up at Northwood again this year?

13 mile & Woodward, south east corner, they where unloading Hellcats when I was there today.
Hope it's not going to rain tomorrow, Saturday should be real nice though.

Just a minor correction....SW corner. Looking like rain for Friday and Sat.

Don't forget about the hines drive cruise August 23 2015 it is closed to only classics cruising and I believe is 7+ miles long in a park setting. Plenty of parking along the route to enjoy the cruise. Google it for info.

Thanks, must be brain fade I could swear I wrote South West, anyways no rain for now so I am heading out there now for a few hours.

Woodward Dream Cruise......
One must go at least once....all the activities is definately something to behold....especially the Mopar presentation. I was there the time Detroit experienced the major power failure...the entire city....WOW!! The only problem....no traffic lights or traffic control.. Back at the hotel, we parked the cruise cars front to rear, under the hotel's entrance.....and we took shifts standing guard.....and ...not to profile anyone, there were roving gangs of individuals prowling around....looking for what ever roving gangs look for.....
On subsequent trips, the person who noted about the plethora of mini vans, we agree and in addition, we noted the maxinum number of leased Cadillac Escalades replete with 26" chrome wheels clogging up the roads. The hot spots, like Duggans, still rocks. I had the opportunity to partake in a little stop lite to stop lite time trials, with the GTX, equipped with the BF Goodrich drag radials....we prevailed most of the time....there is something about doing a hole shot to a guy and his "hot" Camero..... The GTX may be old but definately not slow.
To those who are going or are there now....have a great time....maybe next year, I'll tow the GTX behind my Denali to Woodward and join the "street activities".....its one hell of a show!!
Cheers,

Missing it again and have never been, so so sad. I hope to have my 65 road worthy and on the road next year for sure. I had plans to run down a couple time this past week, but other things keep popping up last minute. My neighbor went down Wed to the old Silverdome for the Roadkill Flashlight Drags powered by Dodge, but I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it. Hope those that go enjoy. Sounds like the rest of today will stay dry. Haven't heard about tomorrow.
8-16. So my neighbor goes to the flashlight drags and found out he didn't push the right button on the website so all he had was specator tickets. But next to the dragstrip they had a second dragstrip setup that rolled into a drift course. They had pro drivers driving and you got to ride along in either a Hellcat or Viper. He had a blast in the Viper. He brought be a couple t-shirt they were giving out. I will be there next year, softball and family birthdays (weelll.....) can wait.

Im headed to the 12 mile and Woodward Berkley Parade/Cruise tonight which starts at 7. I will be slightly wound up from either vodka tonics or Red wine because I'm still sad that my Bee isn't here. Hoping it's running by the time I get home Monday. The engine builder went through it a 3rd time....
Craps getting old...

A few pics I just took while driving.
