I don't have the conversion, but i do have a Borgeson 14.1 ratio steering box in my 74. So far i really like it. Half the size of original and of course lighter. Steering is more firm but it feels good.

You havin problems?
 
No just looking for feed back before I pull the trigger on buying one. Any helpful advice when buying, extra need pieces?

When a product costs almost $1000, one that is a luxury and not a necessity, I surely appreciate feedback too!
I've considered this setup but I can't justify the expense. My Firm Feel stge 3 setup still feels great. a
 
Based on how I want to drive my car and the steering (OVER powered and no on center feel) it is well worth it!! Can't wait to buy it and try it..

As for mine..... It was a direct bolt on but I did have to do some cutting on the intermediate shaft. It needed to be shorted to install the little universal joint which was an upgrade. But I think you don't NEED to do that if your gonna keep the original style one. But don't quote me on that cuz mine already had power steering.

Can't go wrong with Firm Feel products. My car is loaded with them. Dick is a is a stand up dude and great to work with.

Why can't these people just go by the name RICHARD or RICK ? I've never met a woman that liked to be called Pussy or Twat.

As stated, my FF steering chuck is great. When I bought it, there were three choices and they were all based on rebuilt original units. The cost was about $300 plus shipping. The Borgeson is 3 times the cost. This is supposed to be for a new casting with a 14 to 1 ratio, slightly faster than the stock 15.7 ratio. If you have a worn out stock chuck, a FF setup with the fast ratio steering arms is a nice alternative.
Yet another option discovered just 2 or three years ago is the Power steering pump shim trick. Google "Pump it down" from Mopar Action magazine. They found that with very simple modifications, the amount of boost in the P/S pump can be reduced to the point where the steering feel is greatly improved. No more loose feel!

Yeah Dick with Firm Feel has really done me good!!! (Yep.. i just went there)

As for his products... I have 1-1/4" front and 7/8" rear sway bars, 1.12" road racing torsion bars, solid aluminum k-frame mounts and billet aluminum torsion bar cross member mounts along with Bilstein shocks. She handles like on rails with absolutely ZERO body roll. I will be adding his tubular upper A-arms and reinforced lowers soon.

I just installed a new Borgeson power steering box into my 1969 Coronet about a month ago. I wasn't really planning on it but after the case on my newly rebuilt factory steering box failed I needed another option. I should also point out that my new TTI headers were very close to my factory steering box so I had to grind the heck out of the casting just to clear them.

Because I wanted to drive my car this summer... and such a short summer here in Canada, I was desperate to get it all going, so I purchased the Borgeson steering box from Bergman Autocraft. It installed very easily even without the instructions (missing).

Pros:
Very small size - clears headers with plenty of room
Lightweight - easier to install
Tight steering feel - exceptionally tight steering with no freeplay (compared to the stock box)

Cons:
Very expensive
Steering is very heavy at low speeds with stock power steering pump

Kern Dog you can get the unit for under 700 delivered so not 3x the cost. I'm looking at the weight savings, extra header clearance, and faster ratio. Plus I want to only do this once. I have talked with several people who got rebuilt units that were just as bad as the one they pulled out. So for me it is worth the extra $ if it does what it says it will do.
Looks like I will be ordering it tonight!

When I wrote that it was 3 times the cost, I was basing that on a $965 price I saw for the entire setup including hoses, fittings and the steering coupler adapter. I don't know what a Firm Feel rebuild costs nowadays, but I'm pretty sure it was around $300 several years ago.
