I need a new power steering box for my 68 Coronet R/T, any suggestions, type and where to buy etc?
Also what to look for when replacing??

Firm Feel or Steer n Gear, they both do quality work and you'll be amazed with the results.

Put a Steer n Gear in my 70 RR. Night and day on the handling and feel of the car.

I bought both a manual and power sector from Steer and Gear and have been happy with both.

Car Steering supplied my A100 steering box kit a few years ago. Nice and tight....drives nice.

Unless you get the Borgeson unit or put a long pittman arm [ you will need the corresponding idler arm too] on, you have no choice on ratios for a power box.

I went with the Borgeson 14.1 ratio on my 74. It steers like a new car. It'shalf the weight/size of the original and gives you a ton of header clearance. It's not cheap, but worth it.

If I were to go any other route it would be with Firm Feel. They make great products and stand by their work. Good company.

I've got the one from my 67 Belvedere Convertible sitting on the shelf in the shop . . . steering box, pump, and all the lines . . .

Try steer and gear, buddy had a unit done from them and he was very happy. I had one done from firmfeel and was horrible spoke to Dave and nothing got accomplished. Will never deal with them again.

im really surprised to hear this. I've been dealing with Firm Feel for awhile and have never had issues but I've always delt with Dick not Dave. I only have good things to say about Dick with Firm Feel..... (yep, I went there)

A stock Gear box Is way over Compressed there is 0 Road-feel like driving in the Air not a fan of that. I will for sure get a rebuild done one day.

You can change the boost/feel of the power steering by modifying the pump like the article in Mopar Action. I did it, and got great results for 0 dollars.

Is this the article you are talking about? This one is more specific to the saginaw pump, I have the federal, I'll have to research this more but how cool would that be to just have to swap some parts on your pump to get a good firm feel in the steering? who would have thunk it?
