Hello all. Been a long time since I've posted anything. Got a new job in April, my daughter was born in February, and have barely touched my car. I did get this though.
It's a 77 440 out of a town and country. Couldn't pass it up. So now I just need to figure out what I want to do for a transmission. On top of everything else. I did install a door skin on one of my door shells. I'll take some pictures if I get a chance. Went ok, now I'm nervous about doing the other. Hopefully I'll get more time to get more done.

Welcome back Ryan. Glad to hear life is going good for ya. Hope that fender works out for you. Dusted my r/t off this week and made a little progress too. Will post something soon.

Ryan - read your hood soaking posts with great interest. I'm thinking I might have to separate mine as well, and your molasses rust removal method looks like it just might be the ticket. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Paul, glad to see you still check in. Was starting to feel like the odd man out with all the new folk. I take it the job and married life has taken over a little. Not that it's a bad thing, got to come back to your hobbies when you can. I will keep an eye out for your posts as well. We got to get these things done and get out on Woodward, just not in mid August.:toothy10:

Nice score on the 440 Ryan. I know what ya mean about coming back after being gone for awhile. There are so many new builds and people now I feel like an old guy. Congrats on the new job and the little girl. hopefully you decked out the crib in panther pink.

Thanks, Yeah we originally planed on turning her room in to the pepto-bismal palace but, ran out of time and energy. She still looks like a little pink panther most of the time. Wife loves to dress he pink and girly, guess after two boys shes had enough. Trying to make progress again and post, harder then ever.
It is hard to get a lot of work done on cars when you have young kids. Mine are now off to college so I have more time. Take time to enjoy the kids while they are young. Trust me, the time goes SO FAST and then you will be wishing you could have spent more time with them. The car project can move along slowly. IMHO, just try to keep doing ever so small bits on it to make some kind of progress - this keeps the project "alive" and avoids getting rid of it because it is just sitting there.

Anyone have issues with your door sticking out on the bottom corner. Looks good up by the fender, lines up on the top by the quarter, but the bottom sticks out. I'll get a pic tomorrow, don't feel like getting out to the garage tonight. Door has a new skin on it with original shell. Don't know if I have to give it a little love.... but if anyone has any input please let me know.

That looks great i have a 67 barracuda hood thats got coffee grind looking rust between both pieces. I was wondering if i could take it apart like that and fix the rust.
I have done the molasses and water. It works great, and there is a way to rinse the molasses/water off the steel and the metal not rust. Go to lowes or home depot and buy a cheap pump type plant sprayer, and a box of powdered tri sodium phosphate. Mix it with water in the pump sprayer and use the TSP and water mixture to rinse off the molasses and water. With tge tsp and water mixture sprayed on to rinse, you can let the parts air dry and they will not flash rust while drying.
I may be talking out of my a$$, but I can't help but wonder if the top hinge needs to be moved a touch outwards.
