I am trying to find the correct amount of transmission fluid to put in my transmission. Also what type is best for 727 torque flight. It is fully assembled in car with converter, does that change the amount needed. What is the best way to change all the fluid, meaning does some stay in the converter.
Thanks

Start with 4 qts, warm to operating temp and check in neutral while at idle, do not over fill. Oil needs to be at operating temp to read accurately on the stick.

I use ATF +4 for my street car. The shop who rebuilt it said that was the best.

I do know Dextron is a little bit thicker (might make shifting stronger)? <-- Don't quote me on that.

I have a 727 with 2000 stall converter... I contacted a transmission specialist company and they said to use dex 3
