For the bikers ! What did you take your road test on?

My first bike, and what I took my license test on was a 1977 Suzuki GS550 just like this...

I later got a GS750 & my last bike was a 1982 Honda CB900F that I bought new. A woman making a U-turn directly in front of me in 1982 ended my bike riding days.

1956 Harley Pan head. That was in 1965.
It belonged to my brother-in-law, and I bought it from him a few months later, for $165.00

Rode it for 4 years.

my first bike was a honda-matic...thrilling ik,but it was a easy learner sort of.
that was about 16 years ago.
ps,Rich,i bought my son the exact same bike you showed for his first bike :)

now tho,
myself and 3 of my friends are about to go for our permits/license.
Adventures are waiting!
in what we consider to be Karma, all 4 of us ended up with suzukis,550-850.
cra cra since we all had looked at various brands/bikes and somehow ended up w these.

i was the last one to buy a bike, and it happened yesterday at a yard sale of a friends father we know well.
hes owned this bike and a triple yammy since 2009 and we never even knew they were in that barn.
350 bucks got me this :)

Got my license and sold it. I just didn't ride it as much as I thought I was going to. Sold it to buy another car, the Coronet… Two wheels are fun, but I prefer 4…

I took the test on an old Harley Sportster . Somehow , managed to pass the first time.

I've had several bikes since bout 20ish. Honda 350-4, 650-4, BMW Ft. Worth Stockyards 002.jpg, Yamaha Venture and a partridge in a pear tree.... wait sorry a Goldwing. So I rode all those years without taking the test. So in roughly 94 wifey and I joined a club in Dallas. Then I was ask if I would be interested in taking Honda's classes to become a Honda team rider aka guiding routes, emergency help, providing classes, working events with Honda. So the pay was aweful but benefits were FREE VACATIONS...all expenses paid for working 4 hours a day. Fast forward I was "required to have the DL classification" I go in and take the test and the fat lady and we wont mention she was black ax me "sir do you have any notes with you" me: "excuse me" "I ax if you have any cheat notes" me: "no ma'm why would I do that?" "excuse me sir I'm calling over the offiicer". I'm standing there and standing while they whisper about me. Finally I ask her "excuse me is there a problem" "he kinda gets attitude and says "nobody has ever aced the test". So i pull out my certification showing I'm an instructor. He looks and her and says "HE could give YOU the test" LMBO.... but to get me back she wouldnt retake my picture in my most geekish helmet hair pic.

Sorry bout the long answer but it was just a funny experience. it was a 93 Goldwing! the blue one at the Jack Daniels Distrillry in Lynchburg Tn. Ft. Worth Stockyards 017.jpg

1981 LTD 440. Haven't held a motorcycle license since about 1992. I lost 6 friends in one summer and didn't want to become another statistic.

Don't remember takeing any test ? just got mine addid on my class c . Now hold CDL and class 7 inspection but never had to test fo a motorcycle. But then it was back in 75. Had Suzuki's and Harleys, Even raced Harley Dirt bikes . Here is My ride now. Night Train. Not made any more ! First year for the Big rear tire Last year for a Carb. LOVE IT !!120915_0001.jpg

h2 750 still into the two strokes . also took the test in St. Thomas on a 70 650 triumph tiger.

My first bike and one used for my test ride was a 1968 Honda Super Hawk. I think it was a 305. Not the most attractive bike but they're worth a fortune if you have one now. I eventually blew the motor on it.....

305 sounds about right my step brother had one of those then a 350 scrambler best I recall. I hated him so I didnt pay much attention....in fact I STILL dont like him. oh back to the bike...very cool for the day seems it was a bad azz driven from the likes of the 160 Dream and as sport bike. I could be wrong but that's what I recall as fact or fiction. LOL

1975 Suzuki GT750 - 2 stroked, water cooled - referred to as the Water Buffalo . . .

A never forget it moment. My first "road test" with the two wheelers was on a 20" Schwinn. Drove it straight into the neighbors white picket fence.

For cycle it was a Honda 360T. No fences were abused!

1986 Suzuki 1150E. Handled the course really well, and did a stoppie at the end! Impressed the instructor. Still have it!
