Very cool. I found a gold and white Fury like that. Elderly guy had it, and it wouldn't run right. I syphoned the tank...put fresh gas in it, and had it running in about an hour. It was as clean as could be. He decided to sell it to me cheap, because he wife would just sell it and go to the casino. I put Magnums on it, and drove it for about 2 months. Friend of a friend had to have it....so goodbye.

Sonny says, be careful!....take care of that beauty!

Looking good my man. Nice accent stripes. Love the car.

That is one sweet looking ride! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I have been checking all over the web also to find another one of these. They seem to very rare, because no one wanted to keep or restore the big cruisers. lLoking to see if anyone actually has one of these and what thoughts there are about its collectability. ???

Very Rare indeed, The Monaco/Coronet/Fury didn't sell as well as the Cordoba/Charger/Magnum. There was a very nice Fury on the L.A. Craigs List not long ago in the $3000 range. It pops back up now and then because of a no sale.If I didn't have a 79 300 I would have went after it for sure. I worked at the Dodge Dealership in the mid 70's and I will have to say we sold Chargers about 20 to 1 or more. The owner felt he had and did have a better chance to move the Chargers and would only pre-order Monaco/Coronet,(I should say Monaco 2 door or Coronet Sport 2 door) If a customer wanted one.We did have a few Sales Bank Coronet's show up that did set on the lot for quite awhile.I remember my next door neighbor bought one for his daughter that sat for almost a year. The famous Chrysler Corp Triple GREEN !!!. The one I remember the most was yellow with a green vinyl half top with blue interior,,yuck. Thanks for the memories !!

i have a 78 monaco 2 door with a "ss" interior/mirror package

Rare...yes, collectible...not really. I paid $1800 for mine. 50K mile GA car that runs and drives. Faded paint and interior. 1 of 9K made in that trim i believe. For me it's more about the enjoyment of having a car i don't have to feel bad about making my own. It's kind of a neat car, that no one knows what it is, and i didn't pay big money for a "roadrunner" or "charger" badge hanging on a rusted out shell. believe me, i'd love a 70 hemi charger....but you don't find those for $1800 in little old ladys driveways lol.
I also have a 74 dart that runs 10's in the quarter...and i paid alot less for that car, being it wasn't a 1969...in the same fashion. enjoy it for what it is, make it yours for what it isn't.

I'll add that i got a laugh out of people asking me if my Monte carlo was a 77 or 78....
Then i put the roadrunner header panel on it, and now i get asked if it's a 1971 or 72 monte.lol

thanks. We seem to have a lot of the same philosophy. Just enjoying it. question though. I thought 1978 was last year for Monaco? Have never seen the SS package . Do you have a picture by any chance. would like to take a peek. !!

It was more or less a mirror, and interior package. It wasn't a physical badge anywhere. but it is titled as and billed as such.

i have threads all over this forum trying to learn about this stupid thing.lol we bought it to be a mule for a 5.7 hemi swap package i'm developing for work.
it now has a 75 RR front header panel.

the header panel bolted right on.... trying to replace those stupid plastic windows to make it a hard-top....not as easy.lol
