The windshield in my '64 Polara is broken. Where do you all go for something like this these days? Regular auto glass shops don't have access to these do they?

Do I have to buy online and have it shipped, then take it to an installer? Thanks for the input.

You will find a million guys selling these and they are all brokers selling for 1 or 2 factories from Tiawan. Go to Safelite first wholesale store and see if they have. If no luck then you will find a ghlass supplier at hemmings. But shop 3 different companies will off from 100.00 to 600 for it. And for the same piece of glass.

I used my local glass guy, he got the glass and I gave him the seal. Was cheaper that way. Then I made him install it using liquid butyl instead of their normal urethane sealer ! All is good to go now, and no broken windshield ! I chose to have them do the install in case it broke that way they were responsible ! Did the back myself ....

x2 with 65-440! I did the same thing.

Yep.. he's spot on, been there done that.

Check rockauto.com. They have windshields for much less even factoring in the cost to ship. Like others have said, it's probably the same windshield as the restp places sell but for less money.

I too have had good luck with Safelite for old car glass. They did ask me to get the new rubber seal.Safelite got the glass and did the install.

Shop around....I just bought one for my 65 Coronet...prices were all over the board. I think most of the new vintage windshields are foreign made...finally found one for 125.00, also bought a new gasket...installed myself...went in perfect. Check with the small glass installers....they seem to be less greedy...

Next question.... what is the best place to get a gasket? I haven't bought stuff for my Mopars for quite a while now. I'm a little out of it.

Most any Mopar parts vendors have them, they sell for around $95. I think Megaprts will have them. I am working on an early Mustang and just had the windows out to replace the headliner. The windshield gasket was $24 and the rear window was $14... Unreal

I got my 62 Savoy windshield from Summit Racing and my seal through Kramer Automotive.
