I am starting a new project for myself this time. I just got the car a few days ago and I am trying to come up with a plan. It's a 70 roadrunner with California emissions. 383. Auto, bench, column shift. Drive line is missing but I have a date correct 383 and 727 I could put in the car. Just about everything is there. I am missing the drivers side quarter glass and the center. I need a hood too.

I am considering restoring it to factory correct standards and selling it. I am trying to budget but I am thinking this car would sell for a little over 30k restored. The problem is the matching numbers would only be date correct, and not actually matching. That problem and it being a plane Jane roadrunner with no 440 six pac, no air grabber, auto car it doesn't make it real desirable or profitable.

The other path is going with a complete restomod with magnum force front end, linked rear, tubbed, big wide wheels, big displacement stroker, tremec, etc. Painted to look like the hammer. I know I would have more money in it this way, but it would be done how I want it.

Here are a few pics

Don't even think about selling it. You will NEVER get out what you have to put into that car. Maybe to the right guy that HAS TO HAVE THAT CAR, but anybody else would not. Way too spendy to fix that car from the pics.
Build it your way and have fun with it.
p.s. wanna sell it? lol cheap?:headbang:

I think the first thing you really have to do is determine whether or not it's something you're going to keep. If you're going to keep it build it the way you want and enjoy it. On the other hand if your intent is to flip it and turn a profit, I agree with SNKEBIT, in stock form you'll have much more into it than it is worth!! Here's my 2 cents; if you want to "turn and earn", the money is in resto-mods!! And the more trick it is, the more money they seem to bring (i.e. very nice paint and body is a must, maybe a late-model engine swap(hemi!?), 5 speed Tremec or overdrive automatic trans, big wheels and tires, etc.). Not my cup of tea, but there is a big market out there for these kinds of rides!

I'd restomod it and keep!

Restomod it is. I need to get my GTO painted first, but then I will start on this one.

Here is the plan

Motor- Carburated Stroked 440 with alluminum heads 650-700hp
Trans- Tremec 5 speed with a pistol grip
Rear- Probably a narrowed Dana 60 or a 9"
Susp- Magnum force up front, custom 4 link in the back
Body/Paint- Similar to the hammer RR or completely black with all new chrome
Wheels- Big and Wide and black, full tub in the back

I am going to do a custom dash with a satellite dash I have, Vintage Air, power windows and door locks. I am considering a roll cage and definately some stiffening of the frame.
