Here's some pic of my 70 charger with b&g old school wheels and continental 245/40/17's front and 275/40/17's on the rear 2015-09-16 17.14.22 (2).jpg2015-09-16 17.14.40 (1).jpg2015-09-16 17.14.59.jpg

these tires are the exact same diameter as the bfg radial ta's in 14's on the us mag wheels i replaced, in person they are the right scale, not go cart tires

they're a hair under 26 inches

I like the style, but the altitude needs to descend a few inches.

Thanks Hemi, I just put them on yesterday so I haven't had the chance to lower the front end to where I want it, it's a work in progress

I kinda like the rake, I'm a leftover from the 70's that's what we did back in the day, I like to mix new stuff with the nostalgic as long as it compliments each other. Don't get me wrong I hate the stink bug look that's too much of a good thing

Nitto has a 27.6 inch 275/50r17 that would give you a little more sidewall (somewhat reminiscent of the little wheel fat tire days) help with traction (increased diameter puts more rubber on the ground than going wider) and help with highway cruising and mpg by lowering numerically your effective gear ratio.

@ night shift, Thanks for the compliment. my car's combo's sweet spot is tuned for 391-410 gears the taller tires will take me out of the zone and make the final ratio around 355 give or take, I have 410's in a dana 60 in it now, its curvy roads and short straightaways where I live so the car is a blast to drive.

I did the math and the taller tires will give me an effective ratio of 390...not bad

Hell I run larger than that on my Dart, over 28" in unmodified wheel wells. For awhile I had 225-75-R15 which are over 28, at the time I tore it down for paint I had 225 x 60 x 17 which are a tad under 28 It would look MUCH better with larger tires in the wheel well.

actually that 27 inch tire would still be in the rpm range of my set up, I just like lower profile tires. @roadrunner it will look better to YOU, not me, I never liked how the stock wheels or tires looked. I'm not asking if it's funny looking, I posted to show off my car and give a visual of what a more modern combo looks like. The bottom line is it's my car, I decide what looks good on it not you. you never rag on another guys car. Nobody can be that arrogant can they?

battle wagon I love it, the old wagons are cool, and overlooked which is a shame. wow didnt know 285's would fit awesome, do you have a pic of it from the rear?

I don't mind them being overlooked. I can still afford them while they are. LOL :glasses10:
