Had the Super Bee out yesterday with the girlfriend. Was out in the "sticks" with a wide open stretch of road and decided to stop the car and do a launch. Launched the car hard and carried it out close to three digit mphs. Asked the girlfriend if she minded that and her response "no not at all. Wouldn't mind doing that again if it's safe." The road was still empty of traffic, so stopped the car and launced it again. The drag radials were howling mercifully so I let off a bit to get traction and got back into it and tires were howling again. Carried it out to three digits mph. Girlfriend looked back at the tire marks and said "wow, you can see where you let off and got back on it! This is fun!"

In the process I managed to spin the P/S belt off the car and undo the neutral safety switch, but easy enough road side repairs to get her home for proper repairs. Also smoked a Mustang 5.0 on the way home who thought he "was it." And of course got the ricer fly by him thinking he was still it.

It was funny, the girlfried was like "how did you start the car without the key?" Well, if you take this screwdriver and short the starter relay like this, ta da, car starts. The looks of bewilderment was cute. Only wish she was as quick with the socket wrench when tightening the P/S pump bolts as I was stretching it tight.

The Super Bee? Hell yea she's a keeper!! Oh, you mean the girlfriend girlfriend. Yes she is!! Especially since she's always helping with the Bee and wants to learn the mechanics. Actually gets dirty working with me on the Bee.

She sounds like a keeper

ok, well here's a close resemblance of the unpowered Mustang. Kicking myself now for not toying with the guy and letting him take a slight lead before I got all Mopar on him.

Sounded like fun .
My old lady would have told me to get the hell out and she would show me how to burn rubber the proper way .

Tell us about your car! What's your setup? I want to know if I can beat a Mustang with my 440 Charger!

I think they want girlfriend pics, lol...

I remember when me and my wife were dating I had a brand new hayabusa (mostly stock with exhaust, air box, tre, pc, basic bolt on sh!t) and I picked her up for maybe our 3rd date on it.

I went easy since it was her first time on a bike, we were at dinner and she said she had never gone that fast (we did maybe 100 on the way to dinner, which was 3rd gear). I told her that was nothing (being a young dumb show off). So on the way home, I put my left hand over her 2 hands that were wrapped around me and I zapped it up to 165 ish, fastest I ever went with a passenger never mind with 1 hand. It was intense for a minute or so.
I remember thinking "well, she will either laugh about it or never talk to me again". We got back to her place and she couldnt stop laughing, she said she never felt anything like that in her life and how awesome it felt..

Fast forward a few years and I was doing 2-up wheelies with hr on it, fast forward a couple more and I built a 400+hp turbo hayabusa (there are pics and conversations about that bike on this forum) and she went 190+ with me on that bike...
Now fast forward again and she is done with it, no more sport bikes we have a custom vic with 23" front tire and raked front end, saddle bags, and a back rest, lol...

Another thing worth mentioning is she never trusted me driving in a car, on the bike she had no issues letting me act like a fool, but in a car she will start crying if I get too out of hand, she says its because on the bike she feels safe hugging me but in th ecar she feels far away and out of control... BUT I am a much better motorcyle rider than car driver, I admit that. I had chevelle SS's in access of 700hp and she hated driving in them with me, I had one built for pro touring and it was geared with a 6spd, top end was over 200 (never went there or really even close to it) but it would feel like it was at an idle at 130 and she hated that car, she also hates going sideways, donuts, burnouts, etc. She says she feels sick when the cars whip around.

Anyway, your girl sounds like a keeper, you will know when you take it too far, my wife used to do the nervous cant stop giggling thing after a close call, but after a couple REALLY close calls, that turned into crying and be careful because that can turn into the dreaded face slap. I used to wheelie with her on the back all the time, and one day I forgot myself and went right about 12 o clock, I felt her slipping and grabbing at my jacket, so I smashed the back brake (which if you ever wheelied a bike, you know that drops the front tire FAST), I think she thought we crashed, she was shaking and PISSED.
It didn't help a friend of ours had recently passed away on a bike and the girl that was with him was also hurt bad, it ended the night pretty fast, it wasn't long after that that we bought our first cruiser, I would take the sport bikes (owned a gixxer 1K, 2 busas, and a zx14 at the same time, lol) when I was alone and then cruise around with her on the Harley..

So have fun, don't get too carried away (which it doesnt sound like you are 100mph is pretty tame, I was doing that in the lifted wranger on the way to dinner last night, lol), and keep her safe, I thank god all the dumb things I did, didn't go sideways, because I wouldn't be here, or worse, she wouldn't...

My X hated going fast or doing anything that acted like it was about to happen. Hell, I gunned my engine at someone that did it to me first and she started yelling "don't you even think about it" at me lol. My folks lived 150 miles from us and one day on the way to visit them, she fell asleep in 'my' 70 383 Challenger so with the road having very light traffic, I ran it up to around 130. We were nearly there when she woke up and looked around and noticed things were going by kinda quick and leaned over to look at the speedometer and leaned over some more and still couldn't see where the needle was lol. It was an RT so it had the 120 read out. She asked why she couldn't see how fast were were going and started freaking out so I slowly let off.

My present wife likes cars and going fast but she gets a bit ill feeling too when we do donuts etc. Used to be pretty good at doing 360's on the beach and coming out of it still going in the same direction and she wanted to experience one and when I did, I looked over and she looked like she was about to puke lol. Needless to say, she doesn't like roller coasters either :(

Oh I would think a Mustang 5.0 should be easy pickings for a 440 Charger just by shear motor displacement. Cars weigh roughly the same. I've been hunting the Mustangs for awhile now and really wanted to run against one. So sick of hearing their raspy exhausts and guys driving like idiots. My guy was sure driving like he was it. Revving his engine and downshifting and trying to bark his tires.

I've got a "440" (cough cough) Six Pack in the Bee with a 4:10 gear so the car gets up and moves and the Cope 727 makes sure the power gets to the drag radials. If I need the top end than I just hit the little floor button for the GearVendor unit. CR is 10.5:1. We were on a public street and didn't want to get stupid, so when I made it clear who had the better car I got out of it. The girlfriend even said "where'd he go? didn't see him at all!" Yea, he was 2 car lengths behind me. :headbang:

Oh, here's a picture of the girlfriend.

Your girlfriend sounds awesome to have a beautiful woman and a beautiful mopar...words fail me to describe the feeling lol.

Her uncle back in the Netherlands is a mechanic and has his own shop. When she was younger she would go there and hang out in the garage to try and learn things. So now that I'm constantly fiddling with the Bee she is keen to help, isn't afraid to get dirty and asks plenty of questions. Plus she's gorgeous! Best of both worlds for me.
