You read it right...SS monaco...not SS Monte Carlo. I am pretty active over on the A-body forum, and those guys enjoyed it, so I figured I would paste some pics here of what I have been affectionately calling "the USS Monaco" because its slightly smaller than an aircraft carrier :) ha

Drove it home for 1800. I think I did ok on this forgotten b body. Not really my dream B-body but its still a neat ol cruiser. GA car. Great shape. Plans include a fun reliable driver. I have a ten second dart I race, so I dont need another money pit drag car. Possibly an efi system, or even a late model hemi swap. Feedback welcome. Thanks guys.

Thanks! Looks a little cleaner in the pics, but she should come together nicely. Hadn't even heard of an SS package monaco before. And truthfully didnt even know they made a 2 door. Lol had seen the cordoba, charger, and magnum...but not one of these.

Nice! for $1800, you got a helluva deal! I would drive the sh*t out of it. Of course, after I take off the lean burn and put a 4bbl carb on it! lol

you could be like Fred Dryer in Hunter...

ok, yeah its a moredoor, but still. lol

btw, what does the bumper sticker say??

I like it.. Hey lets see a pic of that window sticker.

Another oldie but a goodie. It's a b body. Do we need to say more. At that price you're sitting sweet. Enjoy.....!

No such critter as an "SS" Mopar of any kind.

That was a steel, cool car!

Did it come with the "partner" option?

For the record- Stephanie Kramer's character on Hunter drove an 86 CS turbo Daytona.

The "SS" is a trademarked name owned by General Motors, and specifically the Chevrolet Division. Those "price guides" and such are notoriously inaccurate in many respects.

But, hey, you found that list on the Internet, so it MUST be true if it's on the Internet, right???

One of the "price guides" lists a 440 as being an option in a '66 A-body. Was that available? Of course not.

Nice car and you got it for peanuts. Regardless of the "SS" issue. Heat it up and smoke 'em off....
