I am just throwing this out there to fellow FBBO members in Boise Idaho...I live in Anchorage, AK and I just purchased a 68-69 power bulge hood in Eagle, Idaho (8-10 miles NW of Boise). The gentlemen I bought from sold me the hood and was going to ship in a cardboard box which wasn't acceptable to me, the freight trip from Boise to Anchorage is arduous and I probably would have recieved a beat up hood. I had a friend who was going to volunteer his grandson to help with PU and the shipping at the time I paid for the hood, since paying for the hood THAT friend has started to waffle. MIGHT still happen but might not also.
The plan was for my friends grandson to pu hood, build a plywood framed box with 2x6's and use 1/2" plywood to sandwich the hood with foam or peanuts to ship. I was going to pay for all materials , arrange for shipping (pre-paid by me) plus give him money for his time, materials and help. Not sure where I stand now with him, all I know is that I own a Power Bulge hood in Eagle Idaho.
As I said, I am just throwing it out there for suggestions or offers from any of the members in that area. I understand if this is too much for those who live near there to deal with and will understand and harbor no grudges if I get no responses....just asking, and will continue trying to resolve my issue. Thanks for your time reading this, if you feel you can help...PM me. Mocajava

This is an oddball request and I thought I had this set this up well before I paid him. I was pressured into this as another buyer was there with the money, I had first shot so I took it. I will get this taken care of one way or the other, just dealing with a long distance issue. The freight alone is 400-500 and the costs are really starting to daunt me at this point. Live and learn I guess...

Okay, things are looking up! Made the purchase with faith that I could find someone to help.....and I did! A friend referred me to a buddy of his that works on the Slope (Prudhoe Bay Oil Field) and lives in Boise. I called and he agreed very readily, he picked up the hood this past Sunday morning. He will be building a crate/box to ship in and I will get details and get her on the road. I have met a new friend(always a good thing) and am bolstered in my faith in man kind. I owe this gentlemen in a big way and am told he really likes Crown! FYI......

The hood was picked up by my new friend and he has built a box/crate to ship it in. The next quest is getting the box to anchorage Alaska without having to sell a child or some of my body parts to finance the operation. This will be painful but I am ecstatic over the end result....will be getting quotes today. If anyone knows of ways to reduce the cost via different trucking firms, I AM ALL EARS! The box is 57x59x12" and weighs about 180#. Thanks

Got a great deal thru Lynden as I am in no hurry. Another check off the list of my "wants" for this car. Still have the internal debate over 383 or 440....a ways down the road but a rock I need to turn over eventually. I am guessing these threads are permanent...can't be shut off or closed? If anyone knows the answer to that, add on a note..... i will take care of it.

Thanks Jim Bob. I was just thinking I should clean up threads when they get finalized like this one has. Oh well, thanks everyone for playing.

The power bulge is in my garage and waiting to be sanded ,primered and painted. Great experience with the gent in Idaho and I couldn't b happier!

Those are tough to come by. My vote 440!

Saw one posted on CL two days ago for $500! Almost as good a shape...probably should have jumped on that one also to save for later. Oh well, money is too tight and trying to stash it for the 383/440 build. I was hoping to see a rotating assembly for Christmas under the tree but the wife already told me Santa's sled has weight limits...damn!

Hey Moca Java!
Glad you got your hood!
I know this is an old post...
I'm just wondering if you have the trim pieces that go on the sides of the power bulge bump? Because I have a set, I think...
I won't go rooting through the pile unless you need them.
Good luck with the car!!
