It's just a car, and more importantly your car. Looking for acceptance and the okay to do what you want with your stuff, is silly. Make it a limo ragtop, if that's what you want.

Good luck with the build. I don't think Runner68 was criticizing your plans for the build, he was just saying his preference is to keep the original name on what the car is/was. I think it's a personal preference as long as no one tries to scam a potential buyer. Hope your b-body was on high ground and you didn't have any loss with the flooding.

Hey Runner 68 !! I agree with Burns69RT and he has the right to do what he wants with his car. Stop trying to bully him into agreeing with you. Looks more like you are the one with an ego problem, or is it simple insecurity ?
Burns: Do your car & let us see the results. I would really like to see different designs that were created by the owner's view of what his dream car should be. This whole Hot Rod, Muscle Car thing is supposed to be fun ! Rocket
 
it's your car, and unless those with stronger opinions about it are digging into their own pockets to help fund the project, then keep posting updates, and ignore the rest.

YES indeed! I'm keeping mine just the way she is...did have a brief thought of a 360....but cant seem to bring myself to changing up a really nice car. if the motor was gone or something I would mak'r a hot rod but STILL leave it as a Satellite

However if this cat wants to change it up....its okay, his car, goals and visualization until he attempts to pass off as real. Hotrodders been customizing cars since 50's! After all its badges. I do kinda cringe when guys take perfect premium cars like gtx, rr and bees and cut them all up for drag cars though.

I cant criticize I had a fleeting idea to strip a 4 door to make a dang near perfect Bee and got the same flack! Just say'n.

Don't know if I'm the only freak on here, but that car is bitchin'...in it's own, late `60s to early `70s crossover-kinda-way. Maybe I'm the only one who had or remembers the bubble-gum decal cards 'Odd Rods'? Ahh, the impressionable years...
 
The guy with the car and the checkbook gets to choose to do as he wants. Trying to pass it off as real is when the line is crossed. I looked at a "Super Bee" once that a guy was selling. Upon close inspection i informed him it was NOT a superbee. He was crushed. He got took when he bought it. Hopefully he went after the guy.....
 
Thanks guys, just wanting to build the car how I want to. Will start a build thread once I get the motor trans and floor pans along with the 4 speed shifter tunnel. Until then I'll be emptying her out and getting rid of all the spiders and other critters I don't want anywhere near me lol.

For those of you that know me on here know that I am a bit of a troll. But most of you should also know that I'm all for doing what one want's to with their own car. I'm doing things with my 68 that have raised eyebrows with the purists (which I hate) but I'm doing them because it's my vision. In short, go for it Burns, have fun.

I have never understood the whole "clone" thing. Maybe it's because I have been spoiled because I purchased an extremely clean 68 bird in 1978 and don't understand the struggles of finding them today.

As for Dako and 70Mopars, you guys are f@cked up. That car is the death of a 69 RR....on wheels. Must be Redneck Millennials.

As for Vermont Rock, really? bully?, grow a spine punk. It shows what piss ant generation you were raised in.

Man did you get up on the wrong side of the bed or something today. So what if he wants to clone a Roadrunner I would do the same thing if I got the Satellite much cheaper. There are tons of clone's out there and as long as your honest about what it really is then who cares if he wants to build a clone. I say more power to him and build what ever he wants. He only has to satisfy himself. Ron
