Ran out at Willow Springs again, and as usual I get Porsches in my way in the turns! lol

We upgraded from the bench seat/lap belt to a pair of ProCar bucket seats and harnesses, and a new DIY harness bar from Chris Alstons Chassisworks. We actually inspired this new product for them when they asked why I didn't want a six point bar. So they decided to develop this new product and we got the first one. It's an awesome kit... story to follow.

Awesome vid! It`s gotta feel good going by those exotic cars in the old Belvedere!

Very cool video - love it! I am sure those guys with high dollar Porsches get bent out of shape having an old muscle car not just keep up but truly challenge them! Great car!

Cool video. You demonstrated a lot of patience there by not running over his back end....

That is so sweet roadracer. I've really got to consider leaning my car towards the road race vibe. That looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Excellent video, I bet it was pissing him off to have a shoebox tied to hiss *** all the way around that track.

I can only imagine the bruised egos as they see a 60's Detroit mobile on their precious bumper.

did I miss part of the video?

My wife who is almost 60 said....well shouldnt he be closer and more competitive for the other guy to know to move over? ....he seems pretty far back and just riding behind him......where was he trying to pass?

Maybe he was practicing safe following distance.

yes which is EXACTLY what I would have done! Of COURSE it was a great video and fun ride along... we have friends that do that ...wifey wouldnt let me run the last car and it would have been a FUN ride on the track. Apparently she didnt trust me to operate safely. LOL thank you 65RR

What would've blown their minds would be being passed by the car; but instead of racing wheels and tires, wearing 70-series whitewall tires with full wheelcovers!

In open track day racing, it's called respect and courtesy to not drag race cars down that straight if they catch you in the turns. I don't have the horsepower to drag race him to 125 down the front or back straights, but being that I was on him in the turns and caught up each lap, he should let me by. It's the same with the small cars (Miatas, etc.) if they catch you in the turns, don't drag race them down the straight... lift for a second or two and let them by. If we try to pass in the corners, we get black flagged and kicked off the track because that is reserved for the red run group (racing school, full cage, etc.)

Actually, my first time out at the track I had 15" cop car wheels with 60-series street tires, and the only performance suspension mod was a set of Hellwig Sway bars. I still had the stock, cracked rubber bushings and factory control arms and yet I managed to catch a wide-body Porsche in the sweeper!

I have a 340 HP Poly with auto trans, he has a $65k+ Porsche with over 450 HP. Sorry to disappoint you. lol

I'm definitely not disappointed the mere fact that you were catching a porsche in the corners is priceless, arent porches's known for handling ?
