I know I am asking a loaded question here, and I will have pics on here later, but I just looked at a 1973 Charger SE. Second owner car, 44,000 original miles, numbers matching 400 engine. It has its original gold paint and had a black vinal roof. The rear quarters do have some rust around the wheel wells and the trunk lid has some rust arond where some chrome is. It has all the parts. The guy started taking it apart and sanding and then lost interest. He says it runs great. Had not been started in a year. It turned over fine, wanted to start, but just would not. The only mod is that it was a column shift auto and he converted it to a hump shift which works. It also has an edelbrock carb and intake.

I know these are not worth a bunch, but I am just wondering if you guys have an idea. Again I will get pics on here later. I think it can be bought for $2200. Here are the pics. I was limited bt light and the way it was jammed into the storage. I tended to take pics of the problems.

Pics would help as you said, but my first guess would be it's worth it

I think it really depends on how much money you have to spend. If you're maxed out at say $2500, then you're probably not going to find much that's any better. If you have more coin though, I think you can find a more complete, running, less-of-a-headache car for around $3500 to $4000. In the end, you might still spend the same money, but it'll be an easier road.

I do like the car and it is similar to my Y4 RR that I am eyeballs deep in restoring, so from that respect it would be cool to have 2 mopars with like colors. However I am not sure I need another project. The RR AMD quarters about killed me. Let me know if anyone has interest in this car. One point to add, the car is complete. I saw the boxes with the removed parts.

i,d keep my options open unless that is (your) car.taken apart and no interest i,d be willing to bet 1500 would take it

Wear indicates a much higher mileage. Recommend checking frame rails and truck for rust. If too much cancer, keep shopping

Well, the old pay me now or pay me later goes here. $2200 is a good price yes, but the rust you see can be guaranteed to be doubled on what you cant see.
You can bet the floor pans are shot, and take a GOOD look at the rails where the torsion bars are. Notorious for rotting. Also in the trunk where the spring mounts meet the pan.
I paid a lot for my 73, BUT it was a California car with original sheet metal. Metal for the 73 is kind of hard to come by in good condition. It's out there, but; right place right time scenario.

Wow! Yet another 40+ year old car with only 44,000 original miles shows up with a demolished interior, decades of rust, and looking like it's got one foot in the junkyard and the other on a banana peel. Mopar sure made cars that didn't last for crap back then. :) If that car has 44,000 original miles on it, I'm a Chinese jet pilot. Probably more like 144,000 or 244,000.

I would agree... $1,500 tops.

Kinda surprised know one cought on that this a a old post I'm sure its gone but for how much we may never know I wouldn't have touched it for anything over $1500 oh well good luck to whom ever bought it and if it belongs to someone reading this please let us know the out come .
