Does anyone know of a BB valvecover with removable top for setting rockers? Anyone own some, do you like them?

We used an old valve cover and cut the top of with a torch or grinder and bolted it on. Worked great.
I'm looking for a set to leave on the car. The set I found on the search was a homemade set.

No need, bb mopar is about as easy as it gets for setting valves, especially if you have good covers on aftermarket alum heads. I have the same set of valve cover gaskets on my rr since I built the motor in 2012. Now a hemi in a a body, that's a job to set valves..

The only ones I've seen and/or restored personally are for GMs but they sure are cool!

You might have good luck with the Mickeys versus say some old Cal Customs; the ribs on M/Ts, similar Holleys and older Edelbrocks end at the top of the short end while those on Mopar Performance creep over the edge 1/2" to 5/8" (depending on which rib) and the Cal Customs extend all the way to the gasket rail. If you hit the lottery you can try to find some Jensens ... they'll bolt right up (they came with 440s) and are so thick you'll have tons of material to work with. I've restored probably a few hundred pairs of valve covers over the years so if you need pictures of particular styles for your mock up ideas just let me know. I'd love to see ya make this work.

my question is what are you gaining by this? if only the top comes off you will not have enough room to get a feeler gauge in to set the lash. the only time i've ever used a cover without a top was on small block chevys with stock rockers and hyd cams to adjust the valves while the engine was running. and that was just an old cut up cover i would toss on for doing this just to keep from spraying oil all over the place.
