My buddy and I are driving up almost to Canada again to poke around at Gates Salvage. They have acres upon acres of old cars of all types, mostly rusted our hulks but some of the '70s stuff and '60s stuff still has parts on them. They have 4 73/74 Dodge Chargers up there, complete mostly. When we went last time we got there late and they close at noon on Saturday. We are going early and i'll have more time to poke around and take notes of what's what. Any requests? PM me tonight.

Hmmmm

I may want to take a weekend in the spring to poke around there too!

if you have a chance could you please take a few snaps of the chargers too please and let us know what kind of deal/prices to expect?

Happy pickings to you!

Gates Salvage Yard, Hardwick Vermont.

Well folks, we went, we saw, we pulled parts, we had a great day. This yard has about 4 acres of older cars with saplings growing up in the rows between them. They range from 1929-1974 or so. They are mostly rusted out hulks of big fendered 40's and 50's cars. Also there are a smattering of prewar shells. The rest are 60's and 70's Fords, Chevy's, Buicks, Pontiacs, Olds, and Plymouth. And a few Dodges thrown in. There are 5 73-74 Chargers in various states. I saw one early 70's Road Runner,a 70's Dart Swinger, a late 50's Chrysler 300, a couple of Barracudas( ones a ragtop), an early 70's/ late 60's Polara. The cars have some good parts left on them. This a u pull it place or, they will pull it for a price. They have about 30 acres of everything from 1975 and newer.

Here's the deal......They said that they are about announce that they are selling any of the complete cars up there for $500 bucks each, no titles, you bring a trailer and take 'em. They want to use the land to put in more newer cars.

There is an entire acre or more of 1930's to 1950's to 1970's pickup trucks.
There are dozens of 40's sedans pre and post war. Lots of 50's family cars and a few 55/56/57's. Lots of 60's Buick, Chevy, Ford, Pontiac, Olds cars and 4 doors to be had and some convertibles too. One of the Barracudas is a convertible.

If you ever wanted to build a Rat Rod now is the time. For $1000 you can get enough parts to put one good one together.

Gangster cars from the 30's....several of them.

None of them are great candidates to restore I suppose but hey, $500 bucks? The parts on most of the cars up there will part out for much, much more than that. Saw three 57 Chevy hoods just sitting around complete with chrome etc..parts prices....bumpers are $100, chrome trim $5.00 each, door panels $20.00, power leather buckets from late model cars $75.00. Very fair prices.

So here are the pics of the MOPAR stuff.
