My dual exhaust tailpipes exit in front of the rear tires. I don't think they get hot enough to use header paint (won't cure). I was thinking about using the VHT wheel paint. What would you use? (pipes are low to the ground and are in path of stones that get thrown from front tires)

I think header paint would probably work. Maybe do a test spot then take it down the hi way and see. If that's no good I would think caliper paint might be good there too. Its made for fairly high heat and is pretty durable. I`ve been using it on engines and it seems better than engine enamel its just not available in that many colors. Nice looking car! Good luck with the project!

Maybe put some chrome tips/covers on? I have used VHT paint on mufflers with no problem.

woodstove paint is cheap & covers well. On the wife's Jeep Compass, the whole muffler is exposed to view.Just painted it with the stove paint. It went away, visually.Try it.

I don't suppose chroming them is an option. You have such a nice car that would add a nice touch. Obviously more $$ though.

Thanks for the suggestions. For some reason, I prefer the flat black look over the chrome. More rustic old NASCAR look I guess.

You can get black tips, I have seen them at Jegs and Summit racing, a bit pricy, but would provide a nice finished look if you decided to go that route!

I used to use flat black header paint but it was too hard to keep looking nice. I tried Rustoleum High Heat Ultra black BBQ paint and I love it. It's a semi gloss and is easy to keep clean. Works for me...
