69 Superbee Hemi Orange white tail stripe

I haven't posted in a while. For good reason. Does anyone know a Chris Kane (Engine Builder) in Lemon Grove CA?
I'll tell you why in a bit.

Well the car is about 98% done. I'm missing the air grabber box. I'll probably just buy a reproduction kit. I want a clean look and its not a matching numbers car anyway. It needs a little paint point up., Some carb and ignition fine tuning. But she's drivable and I get to enjoy it the rest of cruise season.

Wow that car Is Gorgeous! I think a White vinyl top would look Great but not everyone likes Vinyl tops.

Did a Search for Chris Kane, WOW, hope all is well...

Yup that guy. I bought my motor from him 2.5 years ago. Granted, It sat in the crate in my temp control garage for that time. When we first started his motor,
and after 4 min of run time, white milk came running out of the bottom of the motor. Hoping it was just a head gasket, we pulled the valve covers and heads. To my amazement this completely rebuilt motor had rocker arms that looked like someone had played ice hockey with them for 40 years. The report back on the heads is that there was 1/32nd of an inch of warp in both sides. Further more the input shaft was binding the back on the crank which he claimed was bored and ready for a manual trans. That wiped out the thrust bearings. The water pump nozzles were so corroded, a hose would not seal to them even with 2 clamps. So, the entire motor was pulled and sent to a local guy. The short story is the motor has been in and out of the car 4 times. it's running, but hotter on one side then on the other. I need to get a thermal gun and really hone in on temps on each cylinder and exhaust temps. I have about 50 miles on it. Some Gremlins, but working them out one by one. DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS GUY CHRIS KANE or buy anything online from him.

As a fellow orange bee owner I say awesome ride!!

Sorry to hear about your engine issues. Your car looks fantastic, will attract plenty of people on your cruises. Enjoy.

Tweaked the carb today. I think exhaust port temps are within 20 Degrees on one another right to left. Working the bugs out 1 by 1.

I read the beginning of the thread - and now the end. What went on in the middle must have been great - because the bee turned out fantastic. Sweet ride and nice job.

Spectacular BEE! That engine builder should be added to a running list we all have access to. A quick referrence guide on who NOT to trust or do business with. Glad to hear you are working the bugs out and getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Roll on Rusty!

Just some Fall 2015 pictures my daughter took.
