I just bought and installed the new steering box in my 1967 GTX. I went with the Firm Feel because they have an excellent reputation and with a shop in Vancouver Washington it was easy for me to stop by and pick it up. These guys are exceptional. While I was there I got a chance to see the family collection of Mopar's. They were all Hemi's and half of them were race cars. Were talking generations of Mopar racers here. Anyway I was trying to keep the car original and these are basically original boxes. After reading the forums on steering boxes I had decided on firm feel stage II. I did notice that a lot of the guys are saying they wish they'd done with stage III which is the firmest steering box they have. Stage III guys love their boxes. So after a lot of thought I decided to go with stage III. Well it's in and I been driving and here's my report. I never liked how sensitive the original steering box was in the GTX. I knew I wanted something a little firmer. Having said all this and having driven the stage III I love it on the highway however in town I kind of wish I had just a little bit more power in the steering. If I had to do it over again I think I would've gone with the stage II. Don't get me wrong you do have power steering in town at slow speeds but it would be nice to have just a little bit more. Anyway with 85,000 miles on the car the old steering box wore out and now I can drive down the highway with one hand on the wheel. I can't say enough about the guys at Firm Feel.
