it is not the same, different harness, different bulb - maybe someone on here can post the #

Did not find map/courtesy map/courtesy assembly at Classic, but there was a reproduction on Ebay and a couple at the NOS warehouses. My next question is: where does the map/courtesy lamp mount, it looks to be monstrously huge! I presently have my dash frame removed from the car. I also just picked up my recovered dash pad. Please don't tell me it mounts to the dash pad.

With respect to the glove box light, could not locate one yet. I wonder if a generic light is available? I saw a 60's era Mustang light that looked almost identical.

Good information. Just looking for the factory style glove box light assembly now.

Since my dash pad is already completed/restored, with no provision for the map light accounted for, and with the problems of heat, etc. I have decided to make a custom map light under the ash receiver or thereabouts. Probably will use LED bulb of some kind and will not purchase a factory style map light assembly because the old engineering seems to leave a lot to be desired.

Well, ALL the 71-74 B body cars with that dash had a plastic plate there of some sort. Some were plain, some had map lights, some had lights and speaker fader. The 72 and up had the "Fasten Seat Belt" in there as well.
But one way or another they ALL need something in that cavity. So either/or:

I don't have a cavity any longer for the map light or a plain panel, since the person that reupholstered the dash this week filled that space over with fabric (I think).
