water pump housing plug wher to buy a replacment

does any one know where to by the hex nut plug that goes into water pump housing. the temp sending unit screws into the hex nut plug which get screwed into the housing I have a 1969 dodge charger with a 440

Any home store will have what ya need in the plumbing section.

Actually the factory plug is a 1/2" square 'female' plug. Assuming you are asking about the NON A/C block off plug.
The temp sender is a 1/8th inch thread, and that hole is 1/8th NPT.

I have some new 1/2" plugs.

Are you talking about the brass piece that a mechanical temp gauge sender screws into?

Yes the temperature sending unit screws into the nut and the nut screws into the water pump housing
