I want to mount an oil n water gauge somewhere in the car but everywhere looks tacky, kinda like a chevy interior lol. Any ideas. Im thinking the center console infront of the shifter i can make a custom pod

I mounted an overhead console in one of my 73 Roadrunners in the 1990s. I put a set of gauges in the front drop-down area and my CB radio in the center section. I had the gauges rotated so when the needles were at their Normal position they were all pointing straight up. That way when I was racing the gauges were in my view without having to look down and as long as all three needles were straight up, I was good. :)

OR just get your stock guages fixed. This is a Mopar, not a rusty Chevy Nova!

I pulled the ashtray from mine and put in an oil pressure guage next to my air/fuel meter. Now that I'm installing a new guage cluster, I am looking at places to relocate my A/F guage. I'm thinking since it is a lighted digital display, I can mount it at the leading edge of the console below the dash. Maybe if you are short on $$$ you can make a 2 guage pod and mount it there?

If you dont like the look of gauges, get lights and alarms, I can look into the last brand and part number I used, they are made for marine engines, and not expensive at all. Just a simple temp/oil psi buzzer and light, the buzzer sounds and 1 light for oil pressure 2 lights for temperature, I mount the lights in the ash tray, so if the buzzer goes off you flip the ash tray down to see if you are over heating or wiped out a cam bearing, lol... I hate the look of "extra" gauges in a car, especially when the factory ones are sitting in the dash, save them practices for the cutlass guys and the tuner kids with the pillar mounts and BIG tachs...

This might be a crazy idea, but how about buying a set of digital gauges, removing the housings and flush mounting them in a black anodized or painted aluminum panel. Hide a toggle somewhere and if you mount the gauges in an inconspicuous location, you can turn them off and they would virtually disappear.

i had the same delema i wanted to mount a oil press. guage. but i didn't want it to look tacky. so i used a single piller guage pod. and mounted it to the side of the console just in front of the light. on the carpet. it looks like factory installed. you will need to cut it so it mounts flat. and fab a mounting bracket out of a piece of tin.works well and looks like it came from factory.
