I'm in Kansas right now visiting friends, My buddy say's 'Hey there's a neighbor you ought to meet." We pull in to his driveway and i see four garage doors but no house. The guy lives next door, this is his man cave. Polished concrete floors, cool tin automotive signs, leather Harley based recliners. He offers us beers and we get to looking at the cars. In order from left to right. A bright green 1971 Buick GS 455, up on stacked lift so I didn't get to see inside it. The blue 1970 LS5 Chevelle beneath it was in the shop getting some work done. Then a 1970 442 with a 455 on top. It was unusual because it was bably blue with blue stripes W30 package,

Under that was a 1969 Charger R/T 440 red with black top. All these cars were in perfect condition, Next was a 2014 Corvette Z51 in dark gray metallic. I got to sit in that and start it up, Finally was a 1970 Hemi Orange GTX 440. that may have been my favorite.

After a couple of beers I asked what gold mine he hit. He started as a janitor pulling his floor buffer behind an old IROC Z Camaro. Now he has 100 employees cleaning hundreds of buildings. Everything he has now is paid for in cash. God Bless America !!!!!:hello2:

No pictures? Come on. I'd like to see the torque-monster Buick. Yes,
the American Dream. And, he worked for it too.

All super awesome cars, WOW. My 68 RR got its clock cleaned by a W-30 Olds when I was a kid but found out later he had gear on me so it didn't hurt as bad.

I had a 70 Buick GS455 Stage 1 4speed with AC. That was a bad bitch!

Great American success story! How cool. I'm kind of jonsen to see that Hemi GTX. I have a soft spot in my heart for the mighty X - and one in my wallet too....

I think the OP said it was a hemi ORANGE gtx with a 440.. but yeah, WE NEEDS PICS!

a good feel good story. over the years i have stumbled into people with similar stories and some nice toys around them. some guys its cars, some have boats, some have bikes and some have some of each. the common thread is usually the harder they worked for it the nicer the toys. i am a firm believer in anything is doable if you work hard enough for it, in either of our countries.:headbang:

I told him about this site. He seemed very interested. His name is Russell. The car in progress right now is a triple black 1969 GTO. It's got a 472 or something similar.
I would watch for him to join.
