I am thinking about putting a T-56 in this car, either after market or Dodge. I am tried of waiting (over 3 yrs)for Passive 5 speed. I have one of the first Kessler TKO-600 in the car and it sucks, OD and 1st gear is great but that is all. I cut the floors for TKO to fit nice and neat, THEN put 63 hump back in for Passive 5 speed.
Has anybody done this in a 63 B Body??
My complete rebuild (2nd time since new)on the car is nearing completion and I am going to Drive it on 2016 Hot Rod Power Tour(my 18th year), assuming Murphy Doesn't come to help!
Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Best of luck with Murphy . . . I know how that goes . . .

I had started my build for my 1967 Belvedere Convertible with a TKO 500, but "really" wanted a 6 speed in the car from the get go . . . so, in the middle of my build, I found a TR-6060 from a 2012 Dodge Challenger . . . and I'm now proceeding with my build with the TR-6060 . . . I can't wait to get it on the road ! !

I've got plenty of pictures and documentation on my build thread if you want to go have a look . . .

Please post pictures . . . I'd love to see what you do with your convertible ! ! !

My original TKO 500 was "suppose" to be modified and not require any tunnel hump modifications - don't know if that is indeed the truth or not ? ? It's still sitting in the garage as I type this . . .

On the other hand, I've cut out the tunnel hump for the TR-6060 and I'm in the process of making a new transmission cross member and support, and refitting the tunnel hump - I'm using the tunnel hump that I cut out of a 2014 Dodge Challenger . . . I know the transmission will fit under it ! ! !

Thanks for reply. You might get in touch Gray Fredrick, owner of American Powertrain 931-646-4836 ext.103.
He is almost finished w/66 Belvedere convert. w/their 6-speed. I saw his car and it different than mine, should be same as yours. He has for sale a crossmember that fits, may save a complete fab for you. I will keep in touch. Don [ Please no personal phone numbers in posts - use PM to exchange phone numbers ]

I just finished driving my Charger for the first summer with the T56 and all I can say is EVERYBODY NEEDS ONE OF THESE!! The whole process of installing it along with vendors and pricing is in my thread (viper t56 install) in the motor and driveline section if you want some ideas on prices or the amount of cutting. Mine is out of a Viper, physically should be the same as the T56 Magnums but different gearing, 1,800 rpm at 80 mph! Since installing it I drive it twice as much, drive it way further distances and now get around 20 mpg with 3:55 gears. You won't regret it.

I should add, pay attention to driveshaft angles when installing it....... easy to make it vibrate like hell if you don't.

Thanks for your input. Just what I expected as my TK600 w/391 gears did about same RPM at 70MPH w/600 HP/500 CI. only got 17MPG

We would like to see some pics of your project. Last year, a 75' Imperial coupe was for sale, with a four speed installed by it's original owner. That would be on great mopar fans daily driver.
