I'm looking for a ceiling mountable retracting extension cord. Do you have one that's working out for you? All the reviews I'm seeing, for multiple brands, say that they don't actually retract well and end up being a pain to work with.

I got one that works great it's a heavy duty one that was used around my shop there's no brand or any numbers on it I can get a picture if needed maybe you can try to find one it's great it's got some umf behind the retractor it's in a round metal case

I used a drop light and cut off the light part and added the cord female plug

didto on the drop light. off ebay years ago .

i've got a fantastic one its called recoila aussie made you may find them on evil bay

I just picked up a couple on sale at Lowes or maybe Home Depot. Been using them for almost tem years now. No issues. I'll have to look at the ebay offerings, maybe get some more.

Thanks guys. The Rockler is sold out, so I think I'll just roll the dice at Home Depot.

I have used a couple from Snap On which is available at Costco's good price and works well. Plastic hook on light is flimsy but other than that is ok. The hook on mine broke.

I have one, 30 footer, don't know the brand. It works fine, the only bitch I have with it is if you don't pay attention while rolling it up, you get to much cord in one area and it will hang up. As long as you move the cord back and forth, it coils up nicely in the drum. Good Luck

Check Sears, they have a couple of Craftsman retractable reel extension cords from 10 to 13 amp, I use a retractable light with socket from Craftsman, works great had it for 10 years.
