Importing car from Canada

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a car from Canada and brought it back to the US, I have found a really nice Car and with the exchange rate it is a awesome deal. Just wondering what kind of a hassle it is to bring it back to the US. Would it be better to have them drive the car here then do the transaction ? Thanks for any replies.

When I bought mine it was from a classic car dealer in Canada who took care of all the paperwork and shipping for me. I think if you go online or call and check what the customs regulations are it would be okay. I do remember that when I did mine they said from Canada to U.S. was easier then the U.S. to Canada and just be prepared to be thorough and take you time to get it all done. Good luck

I know on the flip side on buying cars from the U.S. into Canada rules recently changed where you must use a Broker. There was actually a thread here on it with the updated rules. Not sure if it's the same vice versa though.

And you're right any cars here would be a bargain with our dollar in the toliet right now.
