Modern Bullitt build

Here's some trivial from the movie chase scene.

"The black Dodge Charger was driven by veteran stunt driver Bill Hickman, who played one of the hitmen and helped with the chase scene choreography. The other hitman was played by Paul Genge, who had ridden a Dodge off the road to his death in an episode of Perry Mason ("The Case of the Sausalito Sunrise") two years earlier. In a magazine article many years later, one of the drivers involved in the chase sequence remarked that the stock Dodge 440s were so much faster than the Mustang that the drivers had to keep backing off the accelerator to prevent the Dodge from easily pulling away from the Mustang.[19]"

Loved in BULLITT when the chase scene got going, the baddies in the Charger put their seatbelts on, today, we can't drive 10 feet without these modern cars screaming at us to buckle up, and the computer logs it as the seatbelts not fastened. Crazy!

Ok this is the last of the pluming work (for now ;-)Before I put all the tubing tools away I bent up the rear brake lines. As therear has no brake line clips I made 2 weld on S/S straps to go on the U boltsand 2 S/S clips that I drilled and taped onto one of the 4 link mounts.
Thanks
Pat

Are those fixed calipers or floating?

Thanks

Started installing the torque boxes and have the leftaft welded in. The US Car Tool boxes fit nice and only need a littleadjustment. I added a 1 ½” hole for a future rear brake vent.
Thanks

I started on the driveshaft loop/crossmember today. Using apress I oval a 2” section of 6” pipe and hammered the top half to match theshape of the driveshaft tunnel. With the loop clamped in place and using a 15”contour gauge (a must have tool) I made two cardboard pattern for the crossmember. With the cardboard center section of each pattern as wide as the square tubing(2”) I was able to lay it over the tubing to get a precise line to cut with theplasma cutter. I still need to make the pattern for inside the tunnel above theloop before I can weld it to the floor.
Thanks
Pat

Great looking work going to be a beautiful car when done

Love the way you built that driveshaft loop, super nice! Love the Dogs too.

Incredible fabrication work as usual! What are you using to clean up the floor pans prior to priming them?

That's some great work. Tell the helpers there doing a great job.
