I'm doing a intake swap and wondering if I should match port the intake to my heads...my old intake wasn't ported to match,
the first pic is of the head and the second pic is of the intake, as you could see the intake needs like 1/4" taken off the top to match the Head and the Gasket.

I would

It won't make a huge difference either, just port matching
unless the intake was causing a reversion & partially blocking the port entry

Some are in the camp, it will make more velocity at the port entry, leaving it narrow
BUT it will cause turbulence, with the differences & interruption in flow,
that might not be good...

it won't really hurt any either, go for it

you don't have to go overboard, just blend it in about an 1-1/2"
carbide tip lots of oil to make it cut easy & then some abrasive tips to clean it up
don't mess with the rest of the intake runners, if your worried about it

there's some good books on the subject of flow

good luck & happy Moparing

Thanks Budnicks ! Got it... only go in about 1" to 1"1/2 into the intake runner, I'm only planning on cleaning it up.
