The heads went on a 500ci low deck stroker, hyd roller 600 lift 248 @ 50. More grunt for sure, went from 10.6 to 12.1 compression. Just ran engine to bring temp up. But the weather might stay nice enough to go down the road this week.

I am sure Trick Flows are nice.....but.....In my opinion....anyone buying aluminum heads should ONLY buy heads with MAX WEDGE ports....and then buy an intake manifold with MAX WEDGE ports (Heads and Intake Manifolds like this are offered by INDY or EDELBROCK....If you buy non-max Wedge port heads you will always look back and think that you shoulda spent a couple hundred bucks more and bought max wedge ported items to start with.

Max Wedge Ports are worth about 2/10's in the 1/4 mile and they dont hurt you streetable driving...and you will always recoup the money spent when, and if, you resell them

So tell us the end price going one way or the other.

I just looked at the Indy EZ 295 CNC heads that use the Max Wedge intake port. Looks like about $3000 a pair assembled. They also use the external oil feed. The single plane Max manifold looks like $400.

Forgot to include Indy EZ std port NON CNC heads are $1900 a pair. Indy manifold prices are the same Std or Max.

Well,my car went 11.54@117 with the iron heads full load of fuel and my fat a** in it at 3900lbs, so a chassis dyno is in the near future with Fitech fuel injection. Results to follow. Then in the spring back to the track to see what the difference is in the seat of the pants.

I just looked at the INDY web site. The INDY Aluminum Heads are $2305/pr assembled. This includes Max Wedge Port Upgrade, pushrods (which have to be used because the indy heads require longer pushrods), Indy Valley Plate, Manley Head Bolts, Intake gaskets and Fel Pro 1009 Head Gasket set. The springs on this price setup are only good for up to .600 lift cam so you might want to upgrade the springs if you have a bigger cam. Also the better valve locks are a $30 option.
In my opinion the only way to go. Full CNC porting is about a $1000 option and makes the heads flow about 380. I wish I woulda done this when I bought my INDY heads.

Ok so the Indy are about 3300 full CNC compared to the same as the trik flow heads are $2000 and here great stuff. So what's better for your buck...

"Indy are the more power Guys" while trick flow are just jumping on the band wagon.. i say stay with ford and Chevy junk...i bet 440source will do better than T.F Just my 2~cents

What I did was buy just the basic Indy EZ heads from Dwayne Porter. They were standard port but he told me they are like that about 1/4 to 1/2" deep on the intake ports and if you open that up the rest of the runners are the same so I had him open mine up to Max Wedge size. To me the weakest point in the EZ heads and the RPM heads is the exh port since they are in stock location you can only get so much out of them without going to raised exh ports. I bought my EZ heads from Dwayne and I also got the valley cover plate , upgraded valve springs , the solid flat tappet cam and EDM lifters , and the Indy dual plane intake. My total bill with his labor for the porting to open the intakes up and set up the new springs was with all the parts I mentioned was right about $3400 dollars. Now that was about 5 years ago but I felt it was a very good price. I got my own pushrods as I had to measure for them. He even flowed them and sent me the flow chart numbers that were at .600 lift the intakes were 329 and the exh were 224. Ron

Just double checking, you got the Indy EZ with Dwayne's porting to Max Wedge, good springs, flow test, valley cover and cam & lifters for about $3400? That sure sounds great.

Yes but remember that was over 5 years ago so I dont think its still that cheap but I was very happy with that price. And his service was great as he is very nice to deal with. Ron

Edelbrock Victor in Max Wedge ports would be another great choice too
about the same cost + or - $500 after professional porting,
still need special valve-train pieces, quality 100% Made in the USA
0.250"raised exhaust & 0.650" raised intake ports etc.
great starting point & not have to deal with INDY either, is always nice...

After porting {maybe} 400+cfm is in the realm @ 0.700" gross lift, with the Max wedge's,
go to bigger valves like 2.30's intakes get even more

just another choice to think about,
any good head you choose, should be professionally ported to match your engine combo & needs

check them out
