Have began the process of getting the information that I need to convert my 70 Roadrunner 383/Automatic to a Gen II Street Hemi. Not going to race just have always wanted to have a Hemi Mopar.
Have decided (since I do not have any engine building experience) to go with a crate engine with aluminum heads and dual quads.
Do have some questions;
Motor Mounts: (was told I will need to use Hemi motor mounts)
1. What motor mounts would be the best to use, type/brand?
Transmission Mounts
1. Will I have to make any changes to the mounts for the transmission?
Torque Converter: Was told I would need to replace the torque converter in my stock 727
1. Any brand better then any other?
2. For a street Hemi which is the best stall speed to use?
Driveshaft
1. Will I need to replace the driveshaft?
Fuel System
1. Will I need to make any changes to the fuel system, fuel lines, pumps....?
Factory PS and A/C Car (my 1970 RR has PS, PB & A/C))
1. Was told I will have a problem getting he stock power steering pump to fit.....if so what is the work around or fix (am thinking about adding a aftermarket serpertine belt kit maybe that will solve that problem..). Will use the same belt kit to replace the stock A/C compressor with a modern smaller one.
Any other issues I will have to deal with?
thanks
