Hey all,

Considering going with a Fiberglas nose set up - fenders, hood, bumper ..

Who here has down that and who would you guys recommend??

I've looked at Supercars out of Canada and VFN..

Any good? Any others out there??

I tried looking up Supercars but couldn't find them. Do you have a link? VFN makes a nice product.

I'd like to learn how to make fiberglass body panels. That would be pretty cool.

I work with fiberglass and carbon all the time - I make custom motorcycle parts as a side business..

Making panels is quite easy - making double faced parts as in hoods and fenders gets complex due to the convex of negative curves and positive curves, hard corners and mounting brackets..

But it's very doable for a novice -

Kern Dog - this is the last bike I did.

Radiator down hose cover - it's a one off ..

Air box cover - this was a copy of a No Limits cover made in Taiwan but I brought the gauges out and pushed the nose forward and nosed it -

And this is the stock fender chopped 5.5 inches with a recessed body line -

This is actually one part I've duplicated..

And I did all the paint as well and tinted the rear tail light 30 percent.

Glasstek has some nice parts. I have a hood, fenders and just ordered a trunk lid.

Lines up nice, very straight, a very high quality product. They have a very good reputation.

Nice job on the Harley NoJoke. I have seen fiberglass parts being made and it isn't rocket science but it just takes time and patience.
I have seen some posts on FBBO by Sled City and I believe they make fiberglass parts but I don't know how they fit. Good luck.

I could very well do it my self - just don't have the space to dedicate or the time really .. And then again, if someone already makes a good product..

Sorry i don't have a source for the front end - but as far as making it yourself, I have some input. I've made a few small pieces for myself - fan shroud, rear bumper brakcets, and some misc small pieces. The bumper brackets have about $60 of material in them and they're still pretty flimsy, no where near the rigidity your need for a body panel (they do stiffen up once bolted to the bumper). so id guess a fender would take $400 or $600 in glass and resin so no way it's worth making it yourself, unless there is no other option. Just my $0.01

That Harley looks fantastic. You'd think those are factory OEM parts by their nice fitment.

I like the idea of fiberglass fenders, trunklid, bumpers and such. I have a 1970 Charger. There will likely never be any reproduction fenders or hoods for my car. I'd hate to get in a bender and have the car sit for months or years while I scrape together $$$ for parts!

I am sure that there are a select few that know what you are working on, but there are a lot of people that don't have a clue. If you could tell us, then maybe we all could pool our knowledge and look through the fiberglass sites to make good recomendations. Or we could say, "WE NEED PICTURES" of what these parts are going on. Here at Sled City we do the 62-68 Mopars.

VFN is garbage at best,so wavy you could wave at it and it waves back.
