Who's buying power ball tickets..

I dropped a days pay on the Powerball.
A days pay in a Chinese sweatshop....$10.

It is interesting how one's perception of wealth changes over the years....wealth in terms of "if I had".
I can remember a time when I would day dream for hours about what I would/could do if I had an extra $500. Now, I can lay my hands on several times that much cash as fast as it takes me to get to the bank, and I cannot think of anything I NEED much less want to a degree that I would be motivated to run out and buy it. I like the IDEA that I can get what I want like that but that does not mean I would go out and buy "stuff" just because I can.
I suppose we ALL would spend some amount of time "self indulging" if we won but would end up "wondering" what to do next with that much money once we got over it.
I agree about going "underground" to fend off all those "others" that have better ideas about what we should do with it.

You da man !!!!

You guys are nuts, if you win your going to be in court with 4000 poeple wanting your money, lol...

OK, if I win the jack pot powerball for $400million, Ill give 11 people a classic car or hot rod that I already own... Just have to show me 1 receipt from donating at least $1 to someone not related to you in 2015...

NOt splitting the jackpot with you guys though, lol.. Ill buy you lunch at a really nice restaurant, maybe even get a few of you guys a hooker (1 to split), and maybe even get the hooker lunch and a drink, but not splitting 400m with you, you know how hard you have to work to make $12M liquid , ****!ING HARD.... 400 is like impossible, lol... Thats a half billion, thats insane...

They said that if you stacked 1 bills you would be 9 feet from outer space (or something like that), thats sick, I stacked 5dollar bills from the floor to the ceiling once (8ft), we had to use 2x4s to hold them in place... It was for a charity... That wasnt as much money as you would think.. $100K thats it... if you stack 100K in 5's it will be around 8ft tall..

$100m in ones is almost 7 miles stacked ontop of each other...

Bought 2 tickets Wednesday didn't even get one number right. Got 5 tickets today if I win I will be in mopar heaven lol

I would have to think long and hard about what to do with $400m. I'd set up a foundation for sure. For what I'm not sure. I'd give to the Wounded Warriors Project and St. Jude's hospital. I would set aside a significant amount to help the homeless and mentally ill. Wouldn't dump money into the system - I would rather do something material so I know the money is used well. Of course I'd make sure my family is taken care of - extended family.

I dont know know having that much dough would be mind boggling. Like someone else said above - there's not much I would want that I don't already have or can't get. We live a simple life. I rather do something for legacy purposes. I probably won't win though cause I'm not going to play. So I'll have to rely on those of you that said you'd split your winnings with FBBO members or would buy us hellcats etc. I'd be happy to accept those on your behalf.......

Exactly gtx, I know I would want something I could visit, I would name it after my grandfather, Since I am a developer, and not far from here there are some 80K-100K sq ft mills that can be bought for $10-$25 a sq foot, these can be turned into housing very easily. So getting 60-75 1000-1200 sq foot condos, a nice movie 75 seat movie theater, a nice pt / gym facility, nice retaurant, etc etc etc, I would have the theater and restaurant GREATLY discounted for vets, and semi private, but configured in a way where the wounded warriors could work the facilities themselves and make it self sustaining, so when my money ran out it would still be there...

I have drawn it out and looked at a few places where it could make sense, but of course, we are talking $35m to get it done.. Some day even with out winning the lottery Ill get it done... or something like it, lol.. until then, my favorite charity is wwp... All good people running it and doing the real work...

Let’s hope the powerball number calling machine doesn’t get stuck....

It fun to daydream about winning the lotto, but those dreams always are in relation to the life you are currently living. The reality is if you win, especially a record setting amount, that life you had ceases to exist. Its a game changer. Thats why almost all storys of winning the lotto end up horror stories.
The odds of winning are all but impossible, but as of right now, the possibility does exist that it could be any one of us. If it is, whoever it is, try and keep your wits about you. Your world is going to change in ways you cant imagine.

Guess who I heard is going to announce the winning numbers!

I agree about going "underground" to fend off all those "others" that have better ideas about what we should do with it.

Imagine all the relatives that you never knew about, springing up every time you left the house!

First, you tell NO ONE that you won! Sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. Remember where the hell you put it, too! Keep your yap shut!

Second, there are lawyers that specialize in lotteries and their winnings. Find one!

Third, form a trust. This keeps your name from being publicized as a lottery winner.

Fourth, do NOT drive down to the Lottery Commission and claim your prize! You want to be invisible. You do not want to be pictured with that giant check in-hand. I know I wouldn't!

Fifth, pray! And do not spend money you do not have yet. A ticket can be invalidated.

Once you have your money, PAY YOUR BILLS FIRST!!! Pay off the house, cards, whatever other bills you might have.

After that, keep your mouth shut about winning!!!

How do I know this? First, to me, it is common sense! Second, I know a woman in CO that won over eight million in the Colorado Lottery. This was back in 2000 or so. She lives on a nice bit of property, drives a five-year-old pickup, does things for charity, and travels all the time. And she has the vast majority of her winnings still. She did exactly what I mentioned above.

I think in most states you have to say you won. I would set up a trust for everyone that you want to share the winnings with, so all family members, yourself, wife, and a charity. I would hire an accountant to explain how much should be donated to make sense...

I agree, dont spend money you dont have, lol... When a friend of mine bought a brand new 7 series, he walked in the dealership and when they asked how he was going to pay, if he needed to meet with a finance officer, he said "no, I am going to come back tomorrow with cash, or as soon as the lottery gives it to me" so they were like "OH you won the lottery" he said "no, but I bought a **** load of tickets..."

If i win the Lottery, first thing is I hire a good lawyer to represent me. Then disappear from anyone that knows me. Hire a Private equity manager. Give every beggar a phone address in India to find me for donations. the resurface in another State with low taxes, buy a modest ranch 200 acres, set up a gun rach in the back yard, horses, Chickens and a mega sized barn full of cars. Then sponsor a prostock racer and learn to drive. Quit my job just by not showing up anymore! A Barn full of cars.

Cars:
1. 1970 Hemi charger RT.
2. 1970 Hemi Cuda.
3. 1967 Ford mustang Eleanor Boss 429.
4. Porche 911
5. 1960 Rolls Royce.

Spend all mine time in warm weather. Donate Money to the NRA. Donate Money to Veterans organizations. Actively help disabled Vetrans and their families. Give absolutely no money to any bleeding heart liberal organizations. Start a new Organization called screw the Democrats and Liberals!

I think in most states you have to say you won.

Perhaps, but in OK, you can form a trust and have the money accepted in the name of the trust. The winner's name is never publicized, but the name of the trust is. The last place I'd show my face is the Lottery Commission. That what my attorney is for!
