I wouldn't go back to any era that I lived through lol... I would like to see the USA my grandfather used to talk about, I want to say it would be the 50's, he used to say "you always knew where you stood with a man, because he knew where he stood with you", still not exactly sure what that one meant, but It sounded cool when he said it... I am pretty sure he was talking about the 50's, he had a 48' windsor that my uncle still has to this DAY!!!!! When my grandfather replaced it, they parked it in a field behind the house and used it to teach the kids to drive, it wass always there, and my uncle restored it in the 80's.. still has it right now, and drives it once and a while...

They raised a family in a modest farm house, 6 kids, my grandmother never worked a day at a job, sewed the kids clothes, they farmed 90% of their food, and watched everything change, the only change I watched was TV's getting thinner, pagers turn into cell phones, and carburetors turn into computers...

Some of the guys watching look like they are listening to a physics lecture. I like the suits and ties in a Go Go bar.

in a way us older guys ( late 60's) are fortunate in many ways. and yes people back then, their word meant something! they tended to say what they meant in plain words! no apologies. they knew where they stood with each other.

my father was born in early 1900's, raised on a farm by a "circuit preacher", s w Ga. he was 40 when I was born right after WW11. he instilled in me values, he learned, that can be hard to come by these days. no apologies.

People used to be more elegant, caring, and had shame. Today, women wear underwear for clothing, exposing their junk. Guys wear pajamas and/or dress like they're homeless. A very large portion of our society have become animals.
