Just curious, is this a good price for a 68 Coronet driver?

$12k for a 440 4-speed in driver condition. Working gauges, coilovers, new exhaust, good glass, clear title, registered. Seems like a good deal to me.. and if I had that kind of loose change sitting around I'd really ponder it. Is that a good deal? Just curious

Look s like a decent deal from here. I have a funny feeling there's a ton of bondo in that car I see a ton of waves but I'm not there to see in person so I can only speculate. But a running driving 4 speed mopar for around 10-12 k isn't bad at all I would definitely check that body over really good though before I even started the negotiations

Could be a good starting point. Interesting that it says it has coilovers..... Doesn't strike me as a car that has had extensive upgrades. I almost wonder if the back leafs were sacked out & someone through some coilover shocks on it as a bandaid (???).

Personally, I wouldn't pay 12 grand for that roach.

funny this topic comes up ! I would say its priced high ... I bought my 68 coronet last year for roughly half that, in not much different condition, as of right not I have a tad more into it than the asking price of this car. mine was a factory 318 car that someone along the way cloned it to a superbee, put a 383/727 in, and added a power buldge hood. I had all the glass out, did some minor repairs to the rear glass channel, front channel was perfect, wiper cowl perfect, removed and replaced all floor pan seam sealer, did a COMPLETE interior job minus headliner. new front windshield, ALL weatherstrip replaced, polished all stainless trim. Full brake system replacement ( from master cylinder to drum hardware including all lines and hoses ), complete fuel system replacement, a **** load of wiring repairs, minor engine repairs. radiator re-core. full rear suspension replacement, front ball joints replaced, added front sway bar, blah blah blah .... you get the idea ! I have more in parts receipts than I paid for the car ! on a positive note, I feel confident to drive my car anywhere knowing I have just about replaced everything on it ! I'd say look this car over very thoroughly and negotiate from there, just be prepared for a lot of work ahead of you !

How about some pictures of your car?

Here's a few of the hundreds of pictures I took along the way ....

Yeah I'd say his asking price is a bit high. I paid $6500 for my 69, and it's in about the same condition as 65-440's car, only my interior was redone before I bought it…

Figure 10-20K to make it pretty nice. What's a minty one worth?

Yeah it's tough to say really. I hear and see a lot of prices thrown around on this site, and then I know a few people who have bought and sold, and of course there's the rest of the internet... the prices and WIW I hear about on here are consistently considerably lower than what you see elsewhere. Unless I was selling a concourse car, I think I might avoid FBBO for this very reason. Anyway I'm not in a position to buy anything; as stated originally I was just curious about this car and price.

65-440 your car looks great! And that's a lot of work. I wonder if you had paid someone to do it, how much that would have been.

Mississippi madman, that's not much room to work! Looks a lot like my garage but with more space :violent-smiley-100:

Thank you ! It's been a lot of work. I don't even wanna think about how much that would've cost me if I had to pay someone. Thankfully I work on cars for a living so the labor was free and tiresome ! and a few arguments with the wife of course !

and a few arguments with the wife of course !

I hear ya on that. I work full time and we have a 6 month old now. I can never find time to get in the garage, and I usually get guff when I do. I'm thinking now it will be faster just to save up, find a reputable shop (easier said than done), and pay for someone else to do all I want done. C'est la vie

Nice job on the car. Curious, what did you use to seal the floors?

From here it looks like the POR-15 stuff that you can apply with a brush or a spray gun. That stuff sticks to almost anything! I brushed it on the floors of a 72 Duster project that sat for years with the windows down. There was rust scale under the carpet. I just wanted something to keep it from getting worse. Mission accomplished.
The OP question of the Coronet: I'd say that the price is high especially with umpteen pictures from terrible angles. NONE of the engine bay or front suspension.

Like they all say, it's worth what someone will pay.....nice cars guys....

It's called "corrosion barrier 77" by OER ... similar to por15, I ordered it in one of my classic industries orders. I like it, like painting with molasses!
I am looking to do the same thing: seal off the floors in my A66 Challenger as stripping as best as I can.
This is basically how my floor is coming out (see pic)
