I'm converting a 68 charger non ac car to ac with all factory parts,I have the car torn down to the firewall,no dash ,no heaterbox or motor in car.Im trying to find the dimensions of the holes I need to cut in the firewall for the evap core and blower motor,im pretty sure this has been done before without replacing the firewall with a new piece ,or grafting in a piece from a donor car.if anyone has any suggestions or info I would greatly appreciate it

hi try vintage air the comp. are Sanden and are small not like org. they have set ups for most cars

If not a concours restoration, I too recommend aftermarket ac. I use Classic Auto Air, Tampa. Ice cold. Sanden.

AC

No Hemi came with AC, I used the Bouchillion BPE set-up.
Sanden of course.

sorry forgot to mention I'm using a sanden compressor, and all new components up front, but the inside of the car I want all factory parts,so I just need to find the dimensions to cut my firewall so the factory ac/heater box will fit, just like the setup super- bee_ ski is using.

I have done what you are doing. I got a firewall section from a donor car and laid it over the existing firewall to mark out where to make the cuts. I was more comfortable doing this than trying the measure and mark method. If you do it this way you will have a couple extra holes from the insulation pad retaining studs.

I guess that's what I'm going to have to do.thanks mark b.you still don't have that firewall section do you?

No hemi came with ac but I know of a 70 roadrunner hemi 4 speed car that had dealer installed ac when new. It had the old style compressor as well. You must be able to install it with a non ac firewall because you cant tell by looking at his that it wasn't factory. First time I saw it I thought it was 1 of 1 till he told me it was dealer installed.

Hello Triplehemi. I have a 69 Coronet with ac from factory. I live in Alaska and no use for this system up here but am sure someone will be wanting parts. The entire unit was hooked up but never used and the lines were not even pressured up.I am researching how intense it is to get the delete or modification parts to convert to non air yet still have vents, defrost and heat. If I can do this fairy easily or find the parts somewhere I would be glad to part with entire system. I have already had one FBBO member ask for the vents and ducts so it shows me there is some interest. I know I am a long way away but hate to just junk this stuff and don't have room to store. Needing the info right now before I make the decision to totally remove. I could take pics of my firewall if that would help in your quest? Mocajava

well I ended up putting a fire wall in the car to get the result I was looking for.thanks for all the suggestions
