Looking to mount a Hemi Hood Scoop on my 65 Coronet. Before I buy is there anyone that can tell the correct placement on the hood so it looks right? Thanks in advance!

Look at original pics, from back in the day. I mounted my scoop, where I thought it looked most correct.

On my Belvedere, the scoop is centered on the hood left to right, and about 1/4" from the rear edge of the hood.

There is also a discussion about hemi and max wedge hood scoop placement here: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopar...location-dimensions-on-hood&highlight=tempest

i don't care for hood scoops on the early b-bodies much, but i must confess that that white '65 plymouth really looks nice.

I make a lot of hemi scoops and know of a lot of original cars, and when people ask where to put the scoop, I tell them all the way back to the edge. I have seen them on the original cars from right on the edge, to 3/8 from the edge. We all know that Mother Mopar was not exact on their racers. We are Sled City Fiberglass and we make all the parts you need.

I put mine flush with the rear edge of the hood6497C2A6-DDB5-46F9-96C4-30C358C6CBB3.jpg

I have done some mods on my RO scoop and the placement for me is what fits my eye which is approx. 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" of the back of the hood(behind the green door build)!!!

I put mine approximately one inch from the rear of the hood. Haven't figured out how to post a photo here, I'll forward one as soon as I can.

Thanks for the info and pic, great looking car!

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Here is a walk around video of the 64-65 steel hood on my Plymouth Belvedere. The 2nd shot shows the correct cutout for the air cleaner .DSCN0215.jpg

Sorry about multiple pics, this is how I placed mine--one inch more of less from end of hood.

Sorry for the late question but what hood scoop do you have and where did you purchase!?? thanks!
