It's been 4 months now and I can't get the body shop to get me an update

Get a flat bed and get that car out of there before it becomes a static. Lost in legal litigations . There are plenty of good body shops out there. never pay for the job up front because at the end he is always going to tack on some aroniou cost, a deposit to get started that's it.That way he's motivated to finish the jog and get paid. Man i'm sorry to read about all of this crap. I feel for you brother but you seem to have the situation under control finally. I hope you get your ride back in good condition and it does not cost you much. Good luck!
 
P1010943.jpgNothing takes the fun out of a project worse than a body shop like this one. You need to tell everybody you can to stay away. I had a similar thing happen to me once. They never worked on the car for months, new parts I had got stolen. They backed into the rear fender and destroyed it. I had given them 1500 dollars down. When I spoke to a lawyer, he said It would cost more to get anything from them than it was worth. And they probably didn't have any thing to get any way. I went and got my car and took it to a full service type body shop. They told me up front that insurance work was there bread and butter, but that they would work on my car in between. It took about 3 months but it was done, and it was nice. Every where I took the car when someone asked who done the body work, I told them both stories. The first shop closed shortly there after. I think I helped speed up the process, and maybe saved some others from being screwed. Here's a picture of the car when it was finished.

Imagine a gloved hand ramming up your *** and pulling out your guts through your corn hole! that's what it's going to be like. Who knows I think I may have seen some isis and islam **** laying around his shop the other day!

I am locked and loaded, the shop owner was giving a deadline to produce current pictures of the car no matter what if any has been done to it to prove it is still in his possession if he does not well god help him and his employees and probably the last 30-40 customers. Sorry customers but collateral damage is the way it has to be if HE chooses this route.

Well, what was the outcome?...yesterday was 'D-Day', right? Did you launch the invasion you had coordinated? Did he produce the car with significant progress made? UPDATE YOUR THREAD! WE CAN'T TAKE THE SUSPENSE!!

About 4 months ago.

These kinds of experiences with body/paint are why my 68 probably won't see a full repaint.
It just sucks. Best of luck JB.
 
I heard some guy is running around the Delta area of NorCal with his nuts hanging from his chin..... It was on the Internet news....
 
Guess I'll go to MAACO or Earl Schieb when the time comes. Driver quality Y2 should be easy enough if some trim is removed first.
 
Take a friend for a witness, a trailer and make sure you find and come with your car. Expect the worst because everything is wrong with this deal. Good luck.
