Who now owns Ram trucks? I know they were seprrated from Chrysler or Fiat but are they still Mopars?

You are confusing the "Ram" brand, being split into its own brand, opposed to under "dodge"

Chrysler Corporation still owns the "Ram" brand. The transition from "Dodge" to "Ram" is in preparation for an eventual sell off of the truck division, but it hasn't happened yet.

What is not commonly known is Daimler retained a share of Ram trucks when they sold out. FCA pays a fee to Daimler for every Cummins Ram sold.

Interesting, do you have a source for this? I couldn't see it, as it is in no part of the 'Daimler Trucks North America' site under their listing of brands. Also, when Daimler sold off the Chrysler division, RAM was not yet formed, it was still called the Dodge Truck division. Daimler doesn't own Cummins either, so why the fee?

The Blue tooth technology for the Cummins emissions is owned by Daimler, and Daimler retains ownership of that technology.(2007-present) They do Indeed own some stock, prior to Ram becoming it's own Brand. You can sell a company and still retain some stock ownership, and they did.
When I bought my 07', there was a $1,000 charge for the Bluetooth technology, and it is still there today. Only more.

Hmmm, Bluetooth is generally a radio technology for smart phones and computers. I don't think Daimler has anything to do with developing that. They do however have BlueTec emission controls, is that what you meant? Bluetec is used on Sprinters and Freightliners, it used to be licensed to VW but not any more. I don't see anything that says Cummins uses it, as they have their own EcoFit system.

I'd also like to see documentation that Ram was only created to be sold off....and furthermore, "it just hasnt happened yet" fyi ram and jeep are the fca cash cows, keeping their margins high.
It amazes me the misinformation that follows FCA around, and further amazes me when its tossed around like it's fact.
There is a website called allpar.com its unbiased, and frequently updated with current fca news. I follow this industry as a whole, every day as part of my job, and a chrysler royalty to diamler (for Bluetooth???)....and the Ram brand being sold off, are both inaccurate, and I would love to see documentation otherwise.

Just traded in the Furd for the 2016 Laramie Longhorn 3500 I ordered in November and Love the Truck!!! Been a ford guy for nearly 20 years and 6 trucks. FCA is pricing aggressively and making great looking, Well built products.

2015 with the 5.7 and 8 speed automatic.
30 years of owning Dodge trucks and love the new ones. The new interiors are really nice and it is incredibly quiet on the highway. My one complaint would be the rear coil springs instead of leafs, rides great but I like the way the leafs handle a load.
And yes Ford and Toyota have copied the ram AGAIN this year. Mopar or no car/truck

No documentation on the "Ram" brand sell off, just my humble opinion. I am also well aware of the most profitable divisions of FCA, but my gut tells me that the separation of the Fiat brand from Chrysler dealerships, and combining it with the Alpha Romero brand in separate dealerships, is a sign of changes to come. It's no secret that the gem in the Chrysler tiara for Fiat was it's existing dealership network, allowing Fiat the cheapest and fastest possible reemergence into the american market. Time will tell ...

I regret selling my last Dodge
was a tricked out 1998 2500 4x4 5.9ltr Turbo Cummins 12 valve,
it had 350k miles, still ran great,
I had a 1995 4x4 basically the same truck before that, sold it with 300k+ miles
unfortunately I bought a;
2002 F-350 4x4 Super-duty 7.3ltr Powerstroke Dually, for a tow rig...
I hate that thing, I only drive it to tow stuff, my ol'Pops loves it thou,
he drives it all the time his only form of transportation now...LOL
I love that lil' Dodge...LOL

04.5 Cummins 3500....I love the truck, but it is starting to rust like they all do and I hate driving a rusty truck.

Sorry about that, I meant blue Tec. Yes I have the original Window sticker, for my 2007 2500,and it shows $1,000 to Daimler for the emissions Installation. I believe the system was used up thru my 2012 3500 I presently drive. I heard of some continued ownership by Damler thru friends at the Turbo diesel registry, but I can ask again to confirm the source.
