Any way to tell what body type an engine came from originally?

I have a 1970 440 block with 6 pack crank, rods and correct balancer with serial number stamped on right side of pan rail of '0C110229'. Any way to tell what the block originally came in, expecting the 6 pack parts may or may not have come in this block originally. Just curious.

0C tells us it came from a 1970 Chrysler or Imperial as they were the only ones built at the Jefferson (C) plant.
 
there's really no way to tell what car it came from. But it was assembled at Jefferson ave Detroit,MI. Is it an HP block?
 
"F" is the series (1970), as Chrysler started over in 1965 with "A" series - this is NOT what body it came from, but yet another way to gauge the model year in which the engine was used.

69CoronetR/T is correct about the "C" in the engine stamping. This represents the last eight characters of the VIN, so the "0" means 1970. the "C" is the plant where the CAR was built (Jefferson Ave, Detroit), and the last six are the sequential build number of the car it came from. So, it came from either a 1970 Chrysler or an Imperial. Six-Pak parts in this engine are highly unlikely, unless the VIN matches to a 1970 Chrysler 300-Hurst, perhaps; but I'm pretty sure the 440 T-N-T engine did not have any Six-Pak internals at all.

Sounds like you have a good 440, regardless of what it came out of originally. Remember, 47 years have passed, so any number of things may have been done on this engine during that time.

Me and a bud pulled a 6-bbl lower out of a junked New Yorker wagon, back in the 80's. It was definitely original to the car. It was in a pick-a-part, outside LA. You pay by the piece, so we threw the rest of the thing on the ground and just took the shortblock. In hindsight....it would have been better being a 4-bbl short.
 
Many 70 and up 440's had 6 pak lower ends. The only real difference is the rods and harmonic balancer. All 440 blocks are created equal. Some sonic check better than others for thicker cylinder walls. Many of the late blocks are actually better than and earlier one. For normal street/strip use below 600hp it really doesn't matter.

I've seen plenty of 6pk bottom ends come from Fury's and big C bodies.
