Hi guys, thought I'd check the thermostat only to discover there isn't one. Is there one out of another engine suitable for the 361?
regards,

Glenn

I ran my 440 for years without a thermostat. I didn't know if it had any effect good or bad on the motor. It always ran a little cool. That was when I was young, dumb, and didn't have any money. Now I'm old, dumb and have a few more bucks.

Thermostats are useful in cold climates here in fl. We throw them away as they don't do anything but cause problems. But in a place where you actually get cold the thermostat is designed to help get your eng temp up faster for better drive ability . Not sure how cold it gets where you are I'd say probably not very . But to answer your ? On a 361 bb it would be interchangeable between the little big blocks 361,383 and 400 but again not really needed at all unless your in the 20° wether a lot
