Serpentine belts on a BB Mopar

Personally, I recommend that you try the Eddie Motorsports system - then send me a review! That's the one I've been looking at. They're local, so I may go by and look.

Drool...

Definitely will, and thanks! I'm stoked for tomorrow, idk if I'll be able to sleep.

Guess the part that your starting a new job completely slipped by me, congrats. Sounds likes a fun adventure, I often watch Bitchin Rides and think how cool would it be to do that for a living so let us know how it goes.

I was on Marches website and could only find the expensive setups but after digging deaper saw that you could go to their other serpentine pulley and bracket section and enter in A/C, power steering, etc and customize a kit for under a $1,000 but no pics. Anybody have a pic, I believe it ended up being part# 40545-8

Can anybody tell me who makes that slick setup that mounts the A/C pump down low that I posted? My labtop is down and the smart phone is a real pain sometimes. Thanks

FBBO Member Centerline was useing a lower mounted A/C bracket by Bouchillon Proformance. Look under the 1964 build...

Talked to Jerry today about his setup, he'll be putting some updates on this thread showing his offerings. My understanding is he sells a bracket system that allows you to run all modern components from the magnum motors so you'll need the alt and power steering pump to make the swap. He swaps the alt and A/C locations for a cleaner look, downside is it doesn't come with pulleys but I don't want a lot of bling anyhow.

hey guys, just joined the site. I make the sdconcepts version of the serpentine belt kit. trying to figure out how to post some pics here of our latest low mount ac setup. the kits for the low mount start at $650.00, and we allow you to custom build your kit. our kits are designed around the magnum engine accessories so you can go scrounge parts in a junkyard If you want, or buy them off the shelf at the auto parts store.

check us out on facebook

take care

low mount 1.jpg

here is our current low mount ac kit, you can still run a mechanical water pump. and we have an option of a one wire alternator, as well as color anodizing available.

I'm diggin it! A true 1 belt setup and it looks clean. How much for a black finish if you offer it? Love the idea of mounting the A/C in the same side as the lines so they can be kept short and not strung over the motor making things harder to work on. I think this may be a winner, going to look into the power steering pump and alt.

Great job, a very nice option for an affordable price.

anodizing is $100 for the whole kit (can come in most colors, black, blue, red, clear, green, orange etc.)
pulleys are $185 for the crank and water pump
parts are on the shelf ready to ship but anodizing can take up to a week.

What's the cost of a 1 wire alternator or is there a way to use the old style? I have a new Tuff 100 amp alt already.

Where does this bracket all bolt to? Just curious so I can make sure there's no issues.

powermaster makes a 1 wire nippendenso alternator for use with our kit. also most of the bolts attach through the water pump housing. there is on bolt on the back of the ac compressor that picks up the cylinder head

I have a serpentine system from March. I bought the cheaper "deluxe" version, cost was around $600. I love the sound the serpentine system makes when you rev the engine. Same sound as a blower but half as loud. Easy to adjust and never a problem. I bought at Summit for cheaper. Love it!

I was looking at those but I can't find any pics with A/C and power steering. After filling in the options for A/C and power steering the March kit is nearly $1,000. If I go with SD's setup I'll have about the same in it with the added cost of the 1 wire alt and steering pump plus I love their latout? Feel free to post pics.

Hey maybe the answer should be obvious, but does everyone switching to a serpentine system also switch to (or have) electric fans? I'm such a wiring geek that I've kinda been looking for an excuse to switch to electric fans, but I just wondered if it was a requirement.

My 04 Dodge Cummins truck used a serpentine system and a mechanical fan. To be honest, I don't know what's on my new one!

Well with the SD setup the pump turns in reverse so unless you find a reverse rotation fan it's a must to switch to electric fans. I've been wanting to switch for a while seeing how the mechanical fan and shroud make turning the crank while adjusting lifters a real pain. With the other setups you don't have switch as long as there's still enough space.... mines really tight.

we have a few guys running mechanical fans. we have to modify the water pump pulley for you and you need to get a reverse rotation clutch and a reverse rotation fan. if you don't want the clutch you can use just a spacer as well. but on our kit, you get a 120 amp alternator so you now have plenty of amps to run electric fans so no need to stay with mechanical.

How do you buy? I am building a 500" RB engine for a friend and I like this setup.

I want to switch to a serpentine system on my Hemi. But I don't thinks it possible with the procharger.I really want to get rid of the v belts.

give me a call at the shop. these are all technically custom orders since you can build your kit to suit your build. we stock the basic parts but any mods needed will take some extra time.

I'd like to thank Jerry for taking the time to drop in and answer questions, it's a big help and that kind of support earns business. Looking forward to dealing with you guys.

Also... I was looking at the internals of a Mopar water pump and can see why direction of rotation isn't an issue. I was visualizing a pump with the cavities being layed out for the direction but after looking at one it makes sense how it will work fine in reverse.

I'm almost 100% positive I'm going with the SD design and will either post the install here or start a new thread for anybody interested in how it goes. It will be before Spring weather hits Ohio cause I ain't loosin any seat time haha!
