Plug and play - Headlight Relay Kits

The kit is a plug and play assembly for single and dual headlight per side B body Mopars. These kits take the amp load off the fragile bulkhead connector and amp gauge. The only juice flowing through the bulkhead is the minimal current required to trigger relays. The biggest benefit is the headlights generally receive more voltage than a stock harness can provide which equals better headlight performance. It's not uncommon for a stock harness to have less than 11.5 volts, some under 11, at the headlight plugs. That means the headlights are usually performing at around 50-60% of normal output. These kits will provide 13+ volts in most cases with a good alternator.

This is one of the best electrical upgrades for our Mopars!

The kit includes:
Bosch/Tyco dual 87 relays (no $2 chinese relays)
Ceramic headlamp sockets
Fuse holders with 30 amps fuses
12ga wire from alt to relays
12 or 14 gauge power wire from relays to HL wiring (no 18 gauge wire like factory)
All terminals for hook up to a std 1/4 alt stud and ground locations
Wiring is tinned at connectors
Wiring is shrink tubed
Wiring would follow normal wiring harness paths -------------------------------------------------------------------------

THERE WOULD BE NO CUTTING OF YOUR CURRENT WIRING HARNESS REQUIRED!

The kits I've built have relays mounted on the yoke as pictured and under the battery tray. Another location that appears popular is on the drivers side inner fender upright. Some pics of the kits I put together. Relay holders mounted on the front of radiator yoke.

Headlight and Main Power feed lines from alternator. This one is all 12 Gauge wire.

Some other things to consider. Unless you wire it all the same color which would cause difficulty when troubleshooting and can buy wire in bulk, you'll have about $40+ before tax in wire packages from the local auto store. The tools to properly terminates the wiring are ~$20-80.

Every kit is tested before shipping.

Kit pricing, mounting relays in one of these three locations; radiator yoke, under battery tray or inner fender shelf upright:

Single headlight per side car are $130 + shipping
Dual Headlight per side cars are $150 + shipping

The assembled kits fit nicely in a USPS flat rate box or Fedex shipping, so shipping would be in the 10-15 range in the US. I can also provide International shipping. I have shipped to Canada and Australia, please ask about these shipping options if international. I do my best to find the most affordable shipping options.

Kits with all the products and wire required to build a system:
Single headlight - $85 + shipping
Dual Headlight - $105+ shipping

If you would like some other iteration of a kit, parts only - no wire, please PM me.

All items are shipped from Indio, CA

Thanks for the ad space.

Yes it will fit a 76 Coronet.

If you know where you want to mount the relays, I'd need some measurements for wire runs. Pretty straight forward.

Hello are you still selling these kits? I would like one for my 68 Charger

Cracked has sold a bunch of these kits over at FABO and everyone is very pleased with the results!

I am interested in a kit for a 69 Road Runner. Shoot me a PM when you get a chance.

69f6Bee, your kit is on the way tomorrow.

Thanks for the purchase and let me know if you have any questions.

Rob

Will do and thanks for the fast service.

The price for a 4 headlight system does not include hidden headlight cars (66-70/1 Chargers, etc.)

These cars require a lot more material and connectors. I'm in the process of figuring out a solution.

crakedback do you offer other types of electrical up grades ? I'm wanting to relocate my battery to the trunk !!and have read that a regulator should be used ??

I can do a lot of stuff related to wiring cars. I have a preferred method of wiring regarding a truck mount battery. I use a solenoid for the starter wire and a CD relay for the alternator charge line. Nothing on my cars are hot outside a 2' cube when the cut-off switch is thrown.

I can get any wire from 22ga to 4/0 battery cable and related ends.

Shoot me an E-mail if you'd like to discuss an approach.

CB they can PM you. Email not allowed - staff

Hey Cracked. I'm going to be getting your kit soon as we discussed with some other things. Don't know if you have seen this thread by another member but I like how he used HID headlamps and am thinking of using them in my car.
